Kozilek and his Giant Colorless Friends - The Game

Commander / EDH Colorless Eldrazi Tribal

RennardFuchs

"Remember, they came as three. They will be angry and they are powerfull" said Ugin to Jace. "And once they hit the table, they will stomp the groin of every player, and then restomp their groin so nobody will be strong enough to get up and fight the Eldrazi menace... their power level is over 9000!!!!".

Jace assembled his Jacetice League, and tried to stop the alien foe. He gathered Narset, Rhys, Gisa, Memnarch, Scion, Omnath and Lazav. They knew if they couldn't stop them here, they will ramp and stomp whatever stood in their way... "Eldrazi Winter is coming" said Memnarch, trying to steal Gisa's shovel, but Eldrazi Winter already came.

The Planeswalkers of the whole Multiverse united to stand a chance, "Banish them!!!" they shouted and cried, "Hear us, oh Ma-Ro!!! Help us in those difficult times...". And they have been heard. Within a moment, a misterious force caused the alien force to become weaker, and weaker... Ugin closed his Eyes...

After the Eldrazi Modern winter settled it was tempting to try to build this monster of a deck. A lot of players made it work, the payoff is huge but the entry cost is high. I tried to build it slowly, and it soon became a powerhouse in my local player meta. May I present:

KOZILEK AND HIS GIANT COLORLESS FRIENDS - THE GAME

This deck is constantly changing in two aspects:

  • improvements to the mana base and threats to the board

  • Bling Bling - I love shiny cards. Since I'm a casual gamer who can't attend to FNMs but likes to play personalized decks and collect stuff (models, board games) foil cards are a good way to stand out a bit and give the decks a small touch up. So far I have about 5 commander decks, and I'm constantly foiling them out :)

So what's the tactic of this deck?

1) Ramp

2) Ramp

3) Ramp (you propably see a pattern here)

4) KOZILEK!!!

5) Draw cards, disrupt annoying things, cast Kozileks brother and sister

6) Lose your friends.

Rest of the description will follow soon...

Updates Add

I updated the decklist to the current status. I managed to acquire Eye of Ugin on EM pre-release, and some mana rocks in October:

Thran Dynamo

Gilded Lotusfoil

I playtested this deck a lot and it can become quite a dangerous deck, when the gods of card draw are smiling on you. My personal record was Kozilek on turn 3:

Turn 1:

Crystal Vein -> Sol Ring -> Voltaic Key

Turn 2:

Eldrazi Temple -> Thran Dynamo -> Basalt Monolith

Turn 3: Kozilek, the Great Distortion

Turn 4: Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

This deck can ruin the table pretty fast, but facing of Narset and Rhys in my meta is forcing me to outrace them before they can do their thing.
