I always loved Eldrazis from the first time I see them on Zendikar, I think they are really fun to play on Commander. After many attempts, here you can find the actual list of my Kozilek deck. Are you interested on how this deck works? below you can find a little primer on how play Kozilek, Butcher of Truth .

Because, in my opinion, an Eldrazi deck can be a fun deck, really easy to play (with 0 colors and not complex strategies, this deck can be a nice idea for new Commander players too). You might like play this deck if:
  • You love ramp more and more to cast gigantic creatures that may annihilate your opponents
  • You are not comfortable with decks with too many colors
  • there is not complex stragety, really, perfect for new players too!
You may not like playing this deck if:
  • You like to play fast and aggro decks
  • You like the versatility to have more colors
  • You like play combo-centric decks
  • An artifact mass removal may ruin your plans in any moment
An eldrazi deck may have some good generals, so why Kozilek, Butcher of Truth ? If colorless decks have the nice advantage that you don't need different mana colors, the other bad side of the colorless decks is the lack of versatility: you have not accesso to the black recovery cards, the green ramps or the blue drawing spells. In the late game you may "cheat" on mana costs and play a lot of big, fat creatures, this mean your hand could be soon empty. There are so few colorless cards that allow you to draw, and Kozilek is here to help! for "only" 10 colorless mana, you may cast this big guy that make you just draw 4 cards when it enter on the battlefield, a really appreciate things, and a not indifferent "12/12" creature. But let's take a look at the other possible commanders:
  • Kozilek, the Great Distortion is a really nice alternative, especially beacuse the "draw until you have 7 cards in your hand" but hinestly I think the "annihilator 4" effect of the old Kozilek deserves more attention and make him the best commander. He surely deserved, however, a place in this deck and if you prefer the new version of Kozilek, you are free to exchange them in any moment!
  • Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is a maybe the stronger Eldrazi commander we could ask, but unluckly it is banned on commander.
  • Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and the new, wonderful version Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger are just amazing! but I think they are better on our deck and not like our Commander, especially because we have a lot of ways to tutor them on our deck and cheat on their mana cost.
  • Emrakul, the Promised End is surely a so strong card, but with a different strategy from what we are trying to build on our deck.
  • Same for Traxos, Scourge of Kroog , Karn, Silver Golem and Hope of Ghirapur . They are surely strong cards, but totally different from what we are searching for a fatty Eldrazi deck.
here I will separate the cards of the deck in more categories, to help you understand how to manage them:

  • The deck strategy is really simple:
  • On the first part of the game, your purpose is to cast all the mana rocks and the lands that you can: Eldrazis are surely strong, but they require a lot of mana. The best mana rocks are Sol Ring , Thran Dynamo and Worn Powerstone ; on this deck I have not add cards with the amazing power play like Mana Crypt and Mana Vault because their price too high, in that way the deck could not be playable by everyone. In addition to the mana rocks, you may cast cards like Herald's Horn and Urza's Incubator that help you cheat on mana costs. Or again, the Sensei's Divining Top and the Darksteel Pendant help you to draw the card that you need WHEN you need it. Just be careful to don't irritate the ultra-aggro player on the table and you should have not too much problems.
  • Later few turns you have for sure an enviable amount of mana, now you can begin to cast your first "low budget" big guys, like Walker of the Wastes , Endbringer and Deceiver of Form , without forget the ramp is a fundamental par of the first half of the game. Now you can think to a long-term strategy. Is true that your purpose is to annihilate all your enemies, but they will not be defenseless, for this the deck have some countermeasures: Tectonic Edge may remove the more annoying lands, Oblivion Sower gan give you more lands and Void Winnower can even prevent many cards from being played, slowing your opponents. The deck also contains some removals like All Is Dust and Titan's Presence or some protections, like Not of This World and Whispersilk Cloak ; but be careful of don't abuse of them, the deck have few of them and you have to use them just in case of real danger from otherp layers. If you have some extra time or mana, you may begin think to play some tutor like Planar Bridge and Eye of Ugin for the endgame
  • In the final part of the game you will probably have the eyes of the table focused on your cute 12/12... do not disappoint the public! now you may spend the accumulated mana to play real threats like Blightsteel Colossus , Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and It That Betrays , cheating on mana costs with Quicksilver Amulet and Planar Gate . If you have some protection cards on your hand, keep them aside because probably your enemies would try to remove your big guys; make them survive enough and finally you make sacrifice permanents to all the table!
  • I really hope to be helpful to you, for any further questions or advice, please let me know, it is always welcome!
