Its Grixis, folks! This is a staxy goodstuff deck and we only do 5 things:

• Ramp with artifacts
• Drop stax pieces early
• Destroy problem permanents
• Draw cards and wheel the table
• Reanimate the scariest monsters in magic!

This deck seeks to offset its lack of green ramp by slowing the table with low-cost stax pieces early and ramping with artifacts. This also helps us avoid some of the downsides of pieces like Manabarbs and Mana Web. Another major goal of this deck is to preventing opponents from going wide with affects like Vile Consumption and AEther Flash. In a sense, we want to turn the battlefield into an inhospitable place for all but the scariest creatures - kind of like what Godzilla does by emitting passive radiation that transforms its environment. While this deck isn't the most difficult to pilot, it does create a lot of stax rules to keep track of. Oftentimes you'll be to reminding opponents that Ob Nixilis, Unshackled makes fetches const an additional 10 life and a creature or that Void Winnower shuts of about half of the cards in their deck. There is an underlying theme of forced sacrifice and its important to note that the card draw is spread across spells, creatures, and enchantments. This deck operates best when you can keep a hand with low cmc stax and ramp for turns 1-4, and when in doubt - wheel it out!

An underrated card that shines in this deck is Final Parting that typically finds a reanimation spell and a creature. It just feels good to tutor a Vilis, Broker of Blood to the graveyard, then immediately Reanimate it and draw 8 cards - all for 6 mana and 8 life! Now that’s a bargain!
