This deck is pretty good, but there are always way to improve it.
Wasteland , Ghost Quarter , Tectonic Edge are the obvious ones.

Yeah, I dont think this deck is close to being able to say it is perfect. It is good though
August 3, 2013 3:08 p.m.
"perfect" for how I want to build it (no/minimized infinite combos). I like the addition of the land destruction, but I worry about not having enough red sources with all the artifact ramp in there already; I'll do some playtesting. Mana Crypt would be bonkers, but at ~80 I wonder if picking up a Gauntlet of Might for an extra 20 wouldn't be more prudent. What do you guys think about;
3x Mountain or perhaps Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle ----> Wasteland , Ghost Quarter , Tectonic Edge
Extraplanar Lens -----> Gauntlet of Might
Thran Dynamo -----> Mana Crypt
as an optimal layout?

I guess in theory a Spinerock Knoll and Cavern of Souls would be desirable as well. Gotta love it when improving the deck means increasing the price by >50%

Have you considered Brightstone Ritual / Battle Hymn ?
September 3, 2013 9:34 p.m.
I certainly have! They would be great for early game, fantastic even, but after turn 4 or so I'd rather not draw them given how much reusable ramp I already run. If I decide to even more dedicate the deck to early game, though, I'll be throwing those in asap.

Technically, Staff of Domination /Umbral Mantle +Krenko, Mob Boss +Skirk Prospector with 5 goblins on the field is infinite... But otherwise you're pretty solid on the whole no infinite combos.
September 12, 2013 11:27 p.m.
Mhm, those two are the only ones I know about, but Skirk Prospector is just too good to cut just for that, so I just try not to use them.
September 12, 2013 11:30 p.m.
I agree, Skirk Prospector is very good, especially in this deck.

Haste + Krenko + Prospector goes infinite at enough goblins anyway, the inclusion of prospector is just a guarantee that you'll be able to with Krenko. I run it and it's just brutal, one thing you may consider is Brightstone Ritual, purely because it's a huge mana battery with my mob boss

Take a look at my take on the deck for some ideas.

It looks like you tried to do goblin goodstuff and focus on dropping lots of cheap creatures until you hit a 4 mana Krenko, with some minor ramp in the meantime. I don't think that you're abusing Krenko hard enough and I think that several of your creature choices are questionable (Chancellor of the Forge , Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , etc.). How do you find Mogg Alarm to work for you?
September 22, 2013 1:47 p.m.
Mogg Alarm is sort of a Fireblast in a way except it's not necessarily going to be used to end the game like Fireblast is, although it has been used that way.
My deck wasn't really a deck designed to abuse Krenko, Mob Boss but rather be an old-fashioned aggro deck. Playtesting shows it does fairly well multiplayer and singleplayer but I don't know much about EDH compared to legacy so I can't really be sure.
Chancellor of the Forge I found was pretty good with EDH games lasting long and being a game ender, even with the 7 mana cost. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker is crazy with some other cards in the deck, such as Hellrider , Chancellor of the Forge (if that ever happens), Goblin Pyromancer , etc.
September 22, 2013 2:14 p.m.
The large tendency towards board wipes makes dropping lots of creature cards not very viable, as a single wipe puts you back many turns. Krenko's advantage, and the reason why he works well in EDH, is that he generates board state. In this way, abusing Krenko's tap ability is more robust and more efficient at generating a board state than dropping individual goblin cards.
I'm not that into Chancellor of the Forge because, with Krenko on the field, he is a 7 mana untap effect with minor local haste.

This deck is rather interesting. I am however confused as to why you have Arid Mesa Scalding Tarn and Wooded Foothills inside a mono colored deck. Wouldn't it be better to just have regular mountains, or are they used in a combo I am just not seeing?
January 12, 2014 10:04 a.m.
Neither Silentone89, they're there for deck thinning. At some point there's not much else you can do to tune, you know?

Makes sense. I would of used Jar of Eyeballs for deck sifting/card search. Since it is around $100 cheaper.
January 13, 2014 11:02 p.m.
Jar of Eyeballs is too slow for this deck. It doesn't do anything on its own, and requires either sac engines or board wipes to use (and requires a lot of mana to use each time). The best use I had for it when it was in the deck was as a way of helping to recover from board wipes after I'd dumped my hand.

The sac engine is already there. Goblin Sledder , Goblin Bombardment , Mogg Raider , Skirk Prospector (give mana as well), Goblin Chirurgeon and Eldrazi Monument . If you have the token and you are sacking them anyway for other things, it might be useful to throw 3 mana into it and grab a card you might need like Final Fortune , Planar Chaos , or Vandalblast depending on the situation.

i'm selling 3 of my EDH decks to build this...dam you for making me do this.... Bye Zur, Bye Oloro, Bye Atogatog.

Have you thought about including Ogre Battledriver at all? He'll give you 3/1 Haste Goblins with Krenko. Other ideas:
Hall of the Bandit Lord Haste at 3 life.
Teferi's Puzzle Box To sift through your deck on keep the combos your opponents have to a minimum.
Hope this helps!

hey i made a krenko deck for modern but i's not optimal. Is there anything you would recommend that doesn't cost much money(it's a budget deck).
March 1, 2014 7:59 a.m.
Love what you've done with Krenk! He's my favourite, and always will be.
I also like the use of Goblin Sledder and Mogg Raider . I don't use them personally, but my meta runs a lot of spot removal, and creates problems when you dump goblins into one of them. Love Kyren Negotiations and In the Web of War as copies of Burn at the Stake (sorta) and Ogre Battledriver , I think i'll pick them up for my deck.
Also, never knew about Chaos Warp . LOVE it bud! Red tucks.
I'll ask you to check my deck out Dat Krenko, and let me know what you think. Let's make sure everyone knows that Krenko is the best mono-red commander out there! +1

To the multitudes of people who suggest Burn at the Stake ; it's a 5 mana kill spell against one player, but for 5 mana I want to be killing the whole table. Burn at the Stake is literally the same thing as giving my goblins +2/+0 for a turn.
