Folks always say red is the weakest color in EDH. While I generally agree that red lacks mana fixing, card draw and tutor effects, I still think a strong EDH deck is viable. As a tribe, goblins can be fast and grow into a substantial threat. Krenko and Kiki-Jiki (aka the substitute general) are excellent enablers for token production. The later end of the mana curve houses some large red creatures that love the idea of being used as copied tokens with Kiki-Jiki and Mimic Vat due to their ETB effects. Regardless of whether goblins are entering or leaving the battlefield, there are some excellent burn effects across Purphoros, Warstorm Surge, Goblin Shenanigans and Voracious Dragon.

So the next time someone tells you Red can't throw down in the EDH scene, give them a mouthful of goblins.
