cool deck! only a bit too less lands I think

thank you!

I haven't been having much issue with hitting my 5 lands recently. All the early game scry/draw/dorkage fills the gaps extremely well. Keep in mind that I can play every card in deck with 5 mana sources.

toying around with Search for Azcanta and Ramunap Excavator synergies for early game abuse

How has Defense of the Heart been working?? In this brew?

October 4, 2017 7:55 a.m.

It has been stalling the board immensely :)

I don't always get to tutor off of it but it stops my opponents from playing creatures until they can remove it, which gives me time to set up or win outright.

If it does get off...I usually grab Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Spellskite or Deadeye Navigator and Greenwarden of Murasa depending on my matchups, but that's game most of the time

It's an amazing tempo piece

Throwing in Faerie Artisans for the extreme utility of copying all etb effects from my opponents.

Abuse with Cloudstone Curio to bounce FA in response to the token entering, causing the token to be permanent even if I replay FA.

Panharmonicon still doubles token generation, which gives me double etb to my opponents' one instance

Heck I can even flash this sucker in with Winding Canyons and Alchemist's Refuge to surprise copy an infleuential big drop.

Simply put this is an amazing value piece that makes opponents think twice before playing big etb booties....just keep that Sun Titan and Karmic Guide in hand if you know what's good for ya :P

I'm super excited about this card because frankly I've never seen it before and its refreshing as hell

The competitive tag is for cedh decks. This deck (and Kruphix) have no viability in cEDH environments.

Bababad says... #9

Golly gee, ill get right on that. The nuances of this extremely regulated format must have slipped my mind when I started tagging.

Hey again! So I've made a lot of changes to my Kruphix deck and I was wondering what you'd replace an Abundance with, I mean its a fun card and ensures my land drop but i dont really need more ramp with all my scry/Cultivate's and such. would something like Blue Sun's Zenith come to mind? Because abundance with my updated deck is a kinda a bad top deck...Also, do you have an issue with aggro decks? and do you know of any blue/green cards that help vs aggro?

October 17, 2017 7:05 p.m.

Bababad says... #11

Abundance can be swapped out for AEtherize pretty easily to hose aggro decks a little better.

Blue Sun's Zenith is pretty solid, though if you are going for recursion options Pull from Tomorrow fills the role better and can be hit with Muddle the Mixture

Constant Mists, Spore Frog, Fog Bank can help you against aggro decks. 1v1 the only fast decks that gave me huge issue were Rafiq of the Many and Zurgo Helmsmasher if my starting hand was bad. If they hit their rocks and acceleration they swing for lethal turn 4, but one wrench throws that tempo off balance.

Overall I don't see many true to form aggro decks often, most swingy decks tend to peak at around turn 6 (xenagod, kaarthas, samut). If you feel that sort of thing coming, the best i can recommemd is to hold off playing kruphix until after hosing their tempo or killing/countering their commander.

Yeah i had AEtherspouts but swapped it out for Evacuation! I totally forgot there was a 4 mana AEtherspouts!! Thanks for the help! Really do appreciate it! I like BSZ because of the recursion+ shuffle, have you thought of putting in a Psychosis Crawler in here with all the draw? And how did the amonkhet blue god work for you?

Kefnet the Mindful didn't do too well in my build tbh. Even as a mana dump I didn't have enough abusable lands to capitalize on and never felt like a good play to use it. In landfall builds it's a power piece for sure though!

I can't find the space for Psychosis Crawler, been trying for awhile, but it goes into an important cmc slot and doesn't do a ton on its own.

Well it says you may! You dont have to bounce a land! I litterally just read it and saw the (may) lol is a 3 mana draw any good...i think Sphinx of Magosi would be better right?

October 18, 2017 11:20 p.m.

Bababad says... #17

If you are going infinite mana it's good to have a mana dump draw source. All depends on what you wanna run :)

I'd probably do kefnet over the sphinx

Testing Evolution Charm and Reincarnation in the Giant Adephage slot for now, they've been at the top of my add list for awhile and just wanna see how they run.

Big Beetle is still a wonderful card, but it has been the "pet" card in here for quite awhile and I no longer need it to win. Might as well drop my curve or add a little weirdness.

If I don't like either of these low drop swaps I will try Sunder or Spitting Image in the slot.

going to be updating the desc/primer within the next couple of days, there has been quite a bit of moving around since then

October 24, 2017 4:12 p.m.

Bababad says... #20

Sunder has been dominating in practice, letting me come back and win in games I had no business winning.

First game with it I got to cast it 3 times and won with 2 life left lol

Azusa, Lost but Seeking is back in over Vizier of the Menagerie while testing more applications of this card.

Fact or Fiction is in over Rishkar's Expertise

Hey! Not sire if you've heard of this card before but Familiar's Ruse could be a great card to abuse EBTS! Idk if you've tested it in your deck but its quite handy for mine!

Bababad says... #22

I've seen it in a few modern brews, but never tested it.

I'll proxy it for a few rounds, but I see a few pros/cons

Theorhetical pros:

Soft locks the board with Eternal Witness effects

Helps abuse Panharmonicon and Cloudstone Curio synergies

Can be used defensively to save a key piece

Theorhetical cons:

Doesn't act like a turn 2 counterspell because it requires a body, most turns past that a Cancel or more tricksy counters seem far more viable

May force me to offset my own tempo when the situation isn't viable (having to counter a commander or x spell when I only have one body out)

It will be a fairly bad card in opening hand unless paired with Eternal Witness / Archaeomancer, and some meat to utilize with them like Reality Shift or something.

Could be another avenue of "soft lock" so its worth testing, thanks for the recommendation Zerraphon :)

Yeah! I figured it would be good atleast for me because my kruphix is mainly late game so i cast my big eldrazi and can use it to protect them and abuse the 'on cast' part of my eldrazi, which is what i love about it!

October 31, 2017 1:03 p.m.

Bababad says... #24

its good card for sure, especially for recasting the big baddies.

I just need early counters to be early counters, for most gamesI would prefer throwing in Spell Swindle or Rewind if I were gonna add another counter.

or Mana Drain once it dips enough

but I will definitely test :)
