The idea is simple. Put boatloads of mana into your pool with Kruphix, then use it to make tons of big hydras.
What makes the deck run is
Prophet of Kruphix
. It doubles the amount of mana I can stack onto Kruphix, leaves my mana open for counters and bounce and makes it so I can drop hydra broodmaster at the end of my opponents turn.
Courser of Kruphix does what it does. Same story for Sylvan Caryatid. Cyclonic Rift is insane in this deck. It can deal with almost anything and with all the mana I have floating around it's overloaded most of the time. The counter backup makes it all the better.
Dictate of Karametra serves as a backup plan to both Kruphix and his prophet.
Mistcutter Hydra is the decks Swiss army knife. It can add early pressure against control, early defense vs aggro and paired with
Prophet of Kruphix
acts as spot removal or an unexpected chump blocker.
I have had some trouble with consistency. Not game to game, but week to week. Mostly the trouble comes with dealing with early pressure. GW and Naya aggro gives me fits half the time. I would like some card drawing in the deck but I can't find any good answers. I tried
Dictate of Kruphix
and Font of Fortune but I was unhappy with the results. I have also thought about splashing white for revelation and Supreme Verdict but I'm leery about adding a third color I have also thought about adding Jace but I'm heavy at the 5 CC spot as it is and would rather be dropping a prophet or
Kruphix, God of Horizons
then jace on turn 4 and/or 5.
I have also looked at splashing black for disruption and removal but again if my problem is consistency adding a third color wouldn't help.
Elvish Mystic is another option. But with the sylvan carotid's I feel they would be redundant and end up as chump blockers most of the time.
Any help and +1's would much appreciated.
