8 player single elimination. We usually split top 4 to get to the next one quicker; Release weekends tend to be all about opening packs!

Pack openings compelled me towards Temur, but Sultai kept coming my way. My removal-heavy policy was cut short by my right-side neighbor, and I saw no land support.

Round 1 vs RW Goblins & Removal

  • Game 1 ~ Got stomped by triple Hordeling Outburst, removal taking out my big 'uns.
  • Game 2 ~ Scout the Borders paved the way to Sidisi and some delve creatures. They took removal hits, but created zeds finished off the job.
  • Game 3 ~ Opponent was missing a color, making it a stompfest in my favor.

Normally we'd have split at this point, but someone was greedy and wanted to keep playing.

Powered everything out in the first game against my removal-hogging Abzan neighbor. Games two and three suffered a distinct lack of islands or any mana fixing, which was kind of hard to survive. :(
