This deck heavily abuses -1/-1 (and other kinds of) counters to stall your opponents' creatures and grant you some profit on the way. You have to put a -1/-1 counter on one of your creatures to draw cards with Scarscale Ritual? You don't mind, it's a helpful resource for later. You have to put two +1/+1 counters on another opposing creature for exiling one with Cannibalize? You don't care, it won't attack or block anyway from now on.
