This deck used to be an azorious build with Sygg, the River Guide as the commander. With all the release of Ixalan block green merfolk, I decided to change it to simic. I had some issues with good mana ramp with the azorious build, so adding green should help with that no doubt. Also, the blue/green creatures from the Ixalan block seem to be pretty good and they encourage building up the merfolks strength, whereas white seemed more like added removal and protection. Hopefully, this works out better.
