Kynaios and Tiro: Elite Arcanist Combo

Commander / EDH Combo Infinite Combo Multiplayer

Introduction

This is my current list for my Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis combo deck on paper. I would say it is like an under-the-radar, seemingly-friendly, and durdly list that can win out of nowhere.

How do we win?

This deck focuses on assembling Elite Arcanist imprinted with cards like Vitalize or Dramatic Reversal OR the Dramatic Scepter combo: Isochron Scepter & Dramatic Reversal to generate an untap engine.

This untap engine allows us to generate infinite mana with our land untappers like Krosan Restorer, allows us infinite draw with Selvala, Explorer Returned, and our wincon of infinite damage with Zhur-Taa Druid.

How do we find what we need?

(So of course, there are better tutors but given that this is my current paper list, I'll make it clear that I do not have these much optimal choices at the moment.)

My favorite choice of searching for the Vitalize Arcanist pieces is using Wild Pair. Due to K&T's aid in ramping and the untappers, we can get to 6-mana and starting pumping out value with Wild Pair.

Let's say we have Elite Arcanist and Vitalize in hand. With Wild Pair out, casting the Arcanist gets us Zhur-Taa Druid on the field. If we have our haste-enablers out, that's a win right there.

One other interaction is casting either Arcanis the Omnipotent or Samut, Voice of Dissent. One gets the other and this guarantees a 3-card draw as Samut grants haste.

We should also take note of Wild Research. This card can find us a haste-enabler, a Vitalize-effect, Wild Pair, a tutor, or even a counter / removal if necessary. Our hands are usually and it sort of minimises the downside of discarding at random.

Testing

I plan to test the following cards to see if they can make a cut in the deck:

Blossom Dryad - This is a bigger, less creature-typed version of Ley Druid which can affect the Wild Pair toolbox.

Drover of the Mighty - A strict improvement over Rattleclaw Mystic. The latter's morph ability is near useless as I rarely even consider it. The flexibility of mana choices from the former is good even if it affects the Wild Pair toolbox.

Growing Rites of Itlimoc - Having a Gaea's Cradle effect with untappers is too good an interaction to pass up despite it only producing .

Jace, Ingenious Mind-Mage - It draws a card and it untaps creatures. It might be on the slower side but maybe a little testing will say otherwise.

Lightning-Rig Crew - It costs more that Zhur-Taa Druid and it doesn't produce mana. But it has a different package in the Wild Pair toolbox and that means it can come out at a different time. Its 0/5 body might be good for stalling though.

End Notes

I'll eventually make / continue with something like a primer as I really enjoy this deck. I've tested it within my playgroup and it's been producing good results but of course I plan to bring it out to the wild and see if this deck can hold its ground. Here's to hoping for a more tuned list in the future as I also plan to foil it out.
