I appreciate the up vote.
My lingering question for this deck is Liliana... Is she right for the deck or should I use another card in her place that would further my game plan?

My thought is take Liliana Vess out. Just a thought, what about trying adding another green permanent and a couple of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ? You could get some serious devotion going & pump the extra mana into Villainous Wealth

I'll have to run liliana tonight as I won't have enough time to change the dynamics to a devotion deck. I get what you're saying, though.
I've seen versions of that and think I like more the control versions of Wealth decks than the green devotion decks.
Thinking of going the route of some Ashioks in here for next week, but I'll see how this one rolls tonight! Kinda excited.

Bile Blight and Polymorphist's Jest is a five mana black/blue boardwipe. It's like Aetherspouts but for tokens, since you don't care where tokens go, as long as it's away.

Hmmm, is that right, though? I know that Jest turns all their creatures into blue frogs, but that's just the creature type, right? Doesn't Bile Blight affect only creatures with the same NAME, not creature type?

Hmmmmm, however, Bile Blight would work just fine with Curse of the Swine...hmm...

I am happy to see this type of build playing well at FNM. I plan to play Filthy Rich my version of this kind of build when i return home at least once. I would advise Liliana Vess in the place of apex predator. She can tutor up what you need when you need it. I know she is awesome in the version i have of this control type set up.

Garruk, though expensive, carried a lot of weight in this last FNM. I got him to stick, opponent had no removal, and his Beasts just overran things. I'd be tempted to include liliana in the main, but it would need to be in addition to Garruk. Not sure as a replacement.

For this particular control strategy, I think that Perilous Vault and Prognostic Sphinx are worth seriously considering. Vault gives you game against G/B Devotion and other such strategies that out-aggro you currently, and Prognostic Sphinx represents a resilient threat that also serves as a form of pressure.

I have been contemplating adding a Sphinx here. However, I'm not sure about Vault. My main game is Wealthing a bunch of their stuff onto my board. I don't wanna wipe that out. Also, I've really experienced good things with AEtherspouts as well as the single Garruk's Wake for cleaning things up, but more one-sided.

I'm going to go ahead, after much consideration, and throw in one Prognostic Sphinx. After thinking about it, it'll help defend against some Sarkhan, Stormbreath, and Wingmates, but can also help me find Dictates and Wealths.
I think it's a good addition and I appreciate you bringing it to light.
I've moved a Bile Blight to the sideboard to accommodate this change.

Sultai Wealth decks look so cool! Upvoted! Feels like playing the lottery when you cast villainous wealth, assured hype :P Take a look at my deck Loco-Motive, I'm sure you'll find it quite original and to your liking, a sultai pure control deck! It might give you some idea's too.

Hey thanks, and I'll take a look at it now! Always open for some good ideas! Thanks again for checking this out. Can't wait to take this deck out tomorrow night for FNM round 2! So much fun.

I think Liliana Vess is worth it. Depending on the board state you would always have a card to tutor.
I am also working on a Sultai Control deck and with so many instants and sorceries I find Empty the Pits to be good even as a board stall tool allowing you to cast bigger Villainous Wealth.
Don't you need more card advantage?

Hi, mozz, thanks for posting.
Lilly has made her way in and out of this deck more than I can say. You're right, she can tutor, but I do find I have relatively reliable means to get to cards I need with the draw power that I have. Those being Dig Through Time, Sultai Charm, and even Kiora Crashing Wave, especially when she's paired with a Courser (who, not to mention, also helps me get through my deck). Now with Prognostic Sphinx added to the deck, i get even more peeks into the library.
It's weird but whenever I add her to my deck, my first instinct is always to find out what's better. But yeah, she's been in this deck about ten different times, lol.

I have never liked Liliana in a deck. She usually finds a place in control decks, but control decks usually don't stabilize by turn 5, which means you will rarely cast liliana turn 5, or if you do TO stabilize you'll hit only one +1 or -2... Then past turn 5 the opponent could be out of cards rendering her useless. I see where she can be useful to your deck (-2), but I feel you have enough ways to find your answers with what you just mentionned. Personnaly I would take out Kiora and add more dig through times. I've found that Kiora's +1 in a control deck is very rare since you're going to cast her on an empty field. You'll usually always do her -1...twice. Worth it? I don't know.

You know what? LOL, oddly enough, in my vast playtesting as well as live FNM play, I more often than not always up-tick Kiora unless I'm down to zero-answer cards in my hand. I love her emblem and I do emblem her -quite often-! Bringing out a 9/9 every single turn, unless I'm low on life where I can get burned for lethal, has always meant I win the game. The attacking 9/9s act as removal for chump-blockers and my opponent never really can draw enough answers for a new 9/9 every turn.
I want to be careful with the number of Digs because of the delve component to it. I'd rather cast it with delve than with hard mana because I want to keep things open for counters/kills and such. It's also why I don't run any Murderous Cut. Just want to limit the delve to 2 Digs.
Kiora's done good work for me in this deck. I'd be jittery taking her down to only 2 copies.
We'll see how it rolls tonight at FNM, though! I'm looking forward to seeing the Prognostic Sphinx in play and seeing how it does for me.

I have the highest respect for you for using Dictate of Karametra.

Interesting locomotive! Theory and practice are two different things, you're proving that point :)

I appreciate everyone's input (comments) here this past week. Input that's shaped the deck in a few ways.
I'll post my update after FNM tonight and see how bad I get burned, or if I burn the competition! :)
Then....based on the night, back to the drawing board of necessary revisions! :)

Thiiiiiinking about adding some Hornet Nest to the sideboard for both anti-aggro as well as to combat Abzan and Mardu mid-range. Thoughts?
November 25, 2014 6:06 p.m.
Congratulations on you recent results!
Hornet Nest seems like a good idea. Is In Garruk's Wake good in the main? Isn't it win more card? In what matchups do you bring Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver in?
