Hmmm....perhaps get Ugin in the mainboard by siding out one of the two Drifting Death Silumgars...I can always bring the second one in from the side against some token decks...?

My local metagame is primarily aggressive, what are your thoughts on adding dictate of karametra in the sideboard to ramp faster against tempo oriented matchups?

Hey, B0nerfart, I would advise against it. If you were to play Dictate, it should be part of the main plan, not a sideboard option. If you look through some of my prior Updates up there of matches, you'll see I square off against aggro decks each week, and they don't pose a problem. The answers in this deck for virtually every threat are plenty.
I used to run Dictate in this deck a while ago, but haven't for some time now and have enjoyed it much more. Wealthing for 6-8 usually breaks enough backs where I don't need to overcommit in wealthing for 20+ or anything.

With the rampant run of Deathmist Raptors and other nasties that come back from Den Protector, I'm including some Dissipate in the main board. Been a while since I carried counterspells in the main, but I think it's time they come back. Choosing these for the exile over Dissolve's scry as I have enough scrylands.

Do you feel like this deck lacks wincons? Like apart from potential Kiora tokens what do you have outside Wealth for 10+?

Hey Powelly1995
I feel like Ashiok is a pretty good wincon if they're unable to interact with him.
With all the of the control elements here, it's not unheard of for me to pound the opponent with a Courser or two...it's not my dependable one by any means, but seriously...lol, it's happened.
Coupling Ashiok and Villainous Wealth, this deck really aims at playing the wincons of other decks...so there's that element to consider as well.
You see some holes with that? Feel like something a little more proactive could take the place of, say, Liliana or something? I'd be all ears. :)

This deck looks like it's a blast to play. Might bust it out in a week.

Hey, MrAss, let me know how it goes for you.
I had to take three weeks off from playing due to my newborn arriving, but looking forward to getting back to my FNM and get this deck going again. Let me know how it goes after you spin it...any changes you think you might recommend...always love the real-life feedback here!

Which, on testing, has been doing very well.
Was able to Wealth for nine on turn 7 in one test game... so it has its uses. Not to mention helping to smooth out any missed land drops by at least adding another mana, even if colorless, to help with Garruk, or some higher CMC like Dig.

So what's the word? I fell off just before Dragons dropped. Lost all interest looking at spoilers, and work took over my "free" time. Tried playing the deck about a month ago and had absolutely the worst hands. Couldn't pull what I needed, when I needed and kept getting mana screwed one way or the other.
On the flip side I finished my UW Heroic, and splashed green for Dromoka's command. Got 3 rounds in on it last Friday. Was a nice change not going to time every round haha.
Anyways that's off topic. I put in my order for copies of Foul Tongue, Sil's Scorn, clash of wills, dissipates (I saw the necessity of exiling cards over letting them hit the GY lately), as well as a freshy of the Dragonlord himself. Can't convince myself to buy booster boxes of any recent sets - not even MM15.
So I dig SScorn, but seems we're a little dragon-light for profit. You have 2x Havens, are you planning on going with a few more creatures? Seems wasteful for only 1 dragon? Or this mainly to bring back from the graveyard? What do you think of Necromaster Dragon? I like that he can create zombies, and with that ring Mage land, you could potentially pump out a small army, if your not drawing Wealth. Also, since you've reduced Ashiok mb. On the flip side, that is potentially mana needed for removal or counters.
Deathbringer Regent board wipe ala dragonform? Potentially against those manifest trash decks I hate heh
How do you feel about pulling coursers? I really like having them out there clearing land off the top of deck so my next draw is potentially something I can use.
I really liked where things were prior to Dragons dropped. I still it can happen. I gotta start looking at these new cards... Just been too lazy haha.

I been running temur for a while and have to agree with six it is a nice change in pace. Was thinking on going back to villainous now that origins help a bit better. I saw your update and looks statistically good. How's it going in toure. The rings seem to me to slow the deck a bit. And now life gain and permanent card advantage is out it seems much more demanding of your threats. Also kinda agree with six the dragon aspect looks too light to shove in havens. Id move more towards taking the dragon and haven business and ugin to sideboard for optiions and go for 2 Mizzium Meddler and 1 extra ashiok or gold fang to stall the average players 2 for 1. Clash of wills is good but I feel Calculated Dismissal is more relevant especially since our goal in the beginning is digging for a timely answer to win the game.

Hey, what's up Siq6Six and CapitonMurfish! How you guys been!
Yeah, I'm getting ready to get this back out there into FNM again! Origins definitely gave the deck some good things that I'm eager to try. Siq...I decided to drop the Coursers and Caryatids due to the emergence of Languish. Not simply for the fact that Languish takes those guys out, but it also takes out the opposition that I wanted the Courser/Caryatid package in there for to begin with. This way, I get to cut 7 cards from the deck for 3 Languish and then add in some Thoughtseize as well, which I never had room for. Now I only need a minor splash of green instead of needing the additional fixing to hit double green for Courser.
Murfish, I dig the idea of replacing Clash of Wills with Calculated Dismissal for that scry. I'll give it a whirl. As for Mizzium Meddler, hadn't thought of him, really. I don't know if I feel comfortable pulling the Ugin out, as he's a good catch-all if I fall behind. Also, I don't think I want to go down to 24 lands as I think you were suggesting.
I will, however, move the singleton Silumgar to the sideboard and throw Tasigur into the main. I think I want to keep the one Haven in there for an Ugin flashback or a dragon flashback if I side them in. Having two Haven in there earlier was an error...probably a leftover when I had more dragons in here.
Just had a kid recently so I haven't played in an FNM in about 2 months, so I'm eager!

I've also reduced the number of Mage-Ring Network down to two from three.

Another card I've been wanting to see pushed into the deck - which, now with less on our board, may be beneficial - Perilous Vault. Comes out quicker than ugin, tho it won't activate same turn. From the brief few games I've seen in this meta - too much manifest (colorless) & too much crap coming back from the gy (ie Den Protector), vaults may have the upper hand here.
Anyways only had a minute to comment got to get back to work.

I run one of these, and I'm experimenting on Disciple of the Ring. Seems good in testing.

one creature that i would recommend for this deck is Managorger Hydra. since it reads whenever anyone casts a spell it gets pretty big pretty fast! then you just use control to keep it alive and in doing so you make it bigger as well and it has trample!

Thanks for the congrats, Siq6Six and CapitonMurfish! It's certainly been awesome and challenging all at the same time, lol.
Dilusiions, thanks for the input, but I feel like he'd be a little too fragile, even though he's growing. I feel like the Walkers and Wealth are enough wincons and all other cards in my 75 should focus on control/prevention.

hey locoI don't own any languish to try with your build for tomorrow. Been looking and haven't found a equal replacement. What do you think would work for that slot? My meta would be destroyed by such a card in this deck tool belt. Ill try to borrow or find them but I doubt it. I could main board drown in sorrow but it still wouldn't catch all ojutai or other relevants creature like indestructible god cards.

Oh, two more cards that look like they'd fit right in here..
Infinite Obliteration. Good against other control decks who rely too heavily on one or two creatures. I wonder how well it'd do neutering these decks that rely on Whisperwood Elemental / Den Protector or others of the sort. How would these goblin decks do once Goblin Piledriver is pitched and all they've got are 1/1 tokens? Ok, maybe that one isn't much of a concern, but you can see where I'm going.
Talent of the Telepath it's like a more focused Wealth! 4 mana to dig 7 and cast a spell or two?

Ah, Anril20, you are right...returns the attackers right to the top of the deck for an Ashiok! Or, if Ashiok is already out, they will just tuck the creatures at the bottom. AEtherspouts is quite good.
