Thanks for the suggestion Kilrane! I'll definitely try it out, it seems like a pretty versatile card.

Two cards that I would highly recommend, especially if you are running Panharmonicon with the intent of abusing ETB triggers, are Champion of Stray Souls and Living Death. Both have similar functions, basically swapping what is on your battlefield for what is in your graveyard. With Champion of Stray Souls, you can do it repeatedly which with powerful ETBs and Panharmonicon can be game breaking if not just an amazing value engine. Living Death on its own can be a one card win-con if you are able to set it up correctly!

You have Zero Ramp, you should considering adding some Ramp Creatures to have Meren out by Turn 3 like- Arbor Elf- Blood Pet- Elves of Deep Shadow- Elvish Mystic- Farhaven Elf- Fyndhorn Elves- Llanowar Elves

thanks for the suggestions il-JumperMT. so far I haven't had any trouble getting her out quick, I guess i've been pretty lucky drawing or having an awesome opening hand.but if that ever changes, i'll resort to the suggestions!

Buried Alive, Entomb, Jarad's Orders are all great cards to fill yard, Phyrexian Delver is a great Reanimate on a butt which you can bring back with meren.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/big-meren/?cb=1519990068 this is my Meren list and it is much more efficient than yours with a price that is actually a few dollars cheaper. It is a version with combos that is made to be able to put a presence on the battlefield and sustain longer games as well. It also contains some board control elements that I am surprised your list lacks such as Grave Pact, Merciless Executioner, Slum Reaper, Fleshbag Marauder. and Dictate of Erebos instead of just the single Grave Pact like effect on Butcher of Malakir that you have present.

Hello! Always glad to see another Meren pilot. If you've played thus deck many times I'm sure you've noticed some recurring issues. Would you mind sharing them so that I may give better suggestions? Are you always emptying your hand, not hitting your lands or not able to play your things fast enough, unable to interact with your opponents efficiently in the late game when people start to "go off", things like this?

Well Scytec my current issue is that I’ve become the biggest target in our playgroup despite the person piloting the Edgar Markov deck. This deck suffers against ingest and other forms of graveyard or library exile. Boardwipes can be an issue at times, but I’ve been trying to come up with ways to recur removal via creatures. Not as efficient. Bontu's Last Reckoning works great if I have enough counters on Black Market to help me in the following turn. The ideal starting hand is 3-4 lands and a few low cmc dudes that help search for more land.

About the best removal package I've found is your sac creatures. You can recur Fleshbag Marauder, Merciless Executioner, and Slum Reaper to keep most people board states clean. Those trying to go wide you already have covered with Massacre Wurm. To be honest, I found the token package a little win-more, I ended up dropping Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, Mycoloth, and many more. I don't use the Scions either. I do use Altar of Dementia as it is a free sac outlet, and allows me to mill myself or use it as an alternate win con later with either Nighthowler or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. You may also consider Greater Good as it allows you to draw and pitch what you don't need or specifically want in the graveyard. Another thing I highly recommend that you don't see very often is Void Winnower it turns off on average half of people's decks, and a lot of times more, my meta in particular is full of powerhouse 3 drops. Hornet Queen actually seems great here though, how is it running for you? I have a nest laying around, but I've never considered picking up the Queen.
Unfortunately piloting Meren is a dangerous game as people are familiar with her as an absolute powerhouse. Haha. A decent Meren deck will destroy many other GOOD decks. The key is to know your group and constantly update your list to fair well in your meta. My meta doesn't run much graveyard hate as I play the only graveyard deck, so I'm not familiar with working around it. Perhaps run a few shuffle effects that allow you to place your graveyard back in your library as opposed to being exiled? You'd have to re-mill everything, but at least you wouldn't lose it.

Hey Scytec great recommendations. I’ve included some and will have to find room for a couple others you’ve suggested. I really like Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest especially when I can bring in Thief of Blood then sac it to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord for massive damage. As far as Hornet Queen goes, man I love it. Nobody likes flying deathtouch, so definitely a big threat on the board.

Bojuka bog then living death is a great board wipe (for one opponent, but deathrite can do that too, graveyard hate is great with living death, and living death is great with self mill). I have a problem with my list in that the mana curve is really low, and i need more good zombies to take advantage of gravecrawler (with a zomb on field you can just sac and pay 1b to pump up those xp counters). Artisan of Kozilek will make birthing pod incredible, especially if you can find an 11 drop too. Check out zulport cutthroat if you like Blood artist-type effects (it is kinda strictly better being the same cost for a 1/1 instead of a 0/1 and hits all your opponents) Also consider getting craterhoof behemoth to switch with pathbreaker ibex, but when you add that card it tends to be the only win con you ever use so it can be boring lol. great list and i will definately be stealing some of your ideas!

Teeracer thanks for checking it out. There's a neat little combo in there with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed+Wake the Dead. Since they are sacrificed at the next end step, Mikaeus returns them all (given they are nonhuman) with +1/+1 counters. Glad you like the list enough to steal the ideas been working hard on this deck, she's my favorite!

Okay so if you'd like me to go into more detail that's fine by me, but for now I'll just drop a link to my brew. It's like this one but a lot more optimal.
Okay, the Whole Death Thing? Minor Setback.

You should add the good 5 drop lili that re-animates things.

Mycoloth, Greater Good, Death's Presence and Phyrexian Plaguelord all work really nicely with Meren. Also anything with Persist can become an infinite sac material with either Bloodspore Thrinax or Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.

Have you thought about Curse of the Cabal? It's a good threat to keep up and also an unremovable sac outlet if you need it.
