THE GOAL IS TO GET SO MUCH LAND ON TO THE FIELD AND SLAP DOWN LIEGE OF THE TANGLE FOR MAXIMUM DAMAGE
I want every card in the deck to have an effect that has to do with lands in some way.
In the current way the deck works, we use use
Grapple with the Past
,
Sudden Reclamation
, and Mulch to get through the deck while and picking up cards we need along the way. I used to have both Mulch and Satyr Wayfinder in the deck since they have such similar abilities, but I cut out Satyr Wayfinder in favor of
Grapple with the Past
when I ended up milling away all copies of Liege of the Tangle more times than I want to admit.
My planeswalker of choice is Nissa, Vastwood Seer
because she can be a target for both
Grapple with the Past
and
Sudden Reclamation
. My other choice would be Nissa, Worldwaker, but I would have to trade out a card for something like
Vessel of Nascency
, but it's retrieval effect is only for the four cards, where
Grapple with the Past
and
Sudden Reclamation
can choose anything in the graveyard. So something discarded with Mulch can be retrieved.
I played around with the idea of having something like Courser of Krupix, but instead opted for
Sudden Reclamation
merely for the increased milling going on. I am tempted to try going back to Courser of Kruphix, since I enjoyed being about to control my draws with my mill cards and Nissa's Pilgrimage. If money were no object, I would prefer to have a set of
Oracle of Mul Daya
instead for the additional land per turn, but $20 for just one is a little steep right now. I wan't to keep the deck under $100 dollars and the only way to accomplish having a set of
Oracle of Mul Daya
and being around $100 would be to remove all traces of Nissa, Vastwood Seer
from the deck.
The rest of the creatures in the deck either accelerate land or thrive off of having lands. Elvish Pioneer straight up lets me play an extra land when it comes out. I could replace this with Azusa, Lost but Seeking, but it is a bit expensive and I like having a good amount of one drops in the deck.
Scute Mob
is the other one drop in the deck that just gets bigger every turn when I control five or more lands. Sylvan Advocate is a great card in this deck. It goes to a 4/5 and gives all lands creatures +2/+2.
I also feel like it takes too long to get the actually gimmick of land creatures happen in this deck, so I am considering something like
Awakener Druid
, Rude Awakening, and
Earthen Arms
. Not so much
Earthen Arms
since it is seven mana for a single 4/4.
I am open to any criticism and appreciate any feedback given. Thanks for taking the time to look at this shitty deck!
