Regrettably Exploration is not legal in the Modern format. Otherwise I would be using it and probably Summer Bloom.

Have you considered Eternal Witness in place of Den Protector? I love Protector, but Witness is a little more efficient.

Eternal Witness has always been in the back of my mind. Since this deck is more of a 'what-if', I will for sure make the change. Some of it was just based on cards I have at hand. EW is actually cheaper that Den Protector right now. So there is that.
