This deck is all about the landfall mechanic - Riku is used to accelerate late game production, as in the early game you should have a strong mana ramp and all the cards that can take advantage of it.

This is part of a sub-$100 commander league, which is the only reason why the fetches are not included (also, Animar and the Maelstrom Wanderer are removed in favor of additional lands). Without that budget restriction, fetch away!
