Lands Modern Deck 202

Modern Lands RG (Gruul)

Wizroberag

Sideboard

An Aggressive Mining deck, basically.

The basic idea is to get around Aggressive Mining's drawback of being unable to play lands. As such, Cultivate and Atarka's Command are your early ways to ramp but also ways to refill your landbase. Primeval Titan is, at worst, a 6 mana explosive vegetation, and at best is a big chunky boy who refills your hand with the Mining.

There are lots of other ways to cheat lands into play, from Nissa, Vastwood Seer   to Drownyard Temple, but probably the chief among these is Splendid Reclamation. In a deck lik this, things like Crucible of Worlds or even Ancient Greenwarden (which is staggeringly awesome, I know) aren't useful, because of the restriction on Mining. This isn't horrible, however, as it saves a few bucks.

Tectonic Reformation is an exceptional card in this deck, as when you're drawing huge amounts of cards from the Mining, chances are you'll end up with lands clogging your hand. With it, you can recycle them and draw through faster without sacrificing your boardstate, and possibly even bring them back with a Reclamation later.

The Sideboard is interesting. Broken Bond is especially useful as you can side it in if you find yourself needing to destroy your own Mining. If you don't need to destroy Mining, then you can use it as another landcheat card, which is never unwanted in this deck. Crawling Sensation can be goof for getting blockers or swarms, and works well with both Mining and Reformation, while Seismic Assault is a good replacement for Reformation in case you need to shoot down threats.

The big "finishers" are currently Titania, Protector of Argoth and Wrenn and Seven. Wrenn and Seven is notable for being another great, repeatable landcheat. Refilling your hand with lands is essentially card draw with Tec Reformation, and her 0 ability, when combined with her +1, makes keeping your hand full super easy. Titania does a lot in this deck (thank you MH2) as she effectively combines a Win-Con with a late-game equaliser, being capable of manufacturing heaps of elementals if you've got a Mining on the field.
