This deck is in celebration of Liliana's glorious defense at the Battle of Thraben - by arriving on the scene at the head of a horde.
This deck is fast and can survive on 3-5 Swamps. The technique of this deck is simple: build a hoard, make them stronger, and destroy/discard anything that gets in the way. Liliana is not one to create an intricate plan or a combo. She knows that power is power (Cersei!) and foolish people think they can achieve it through planning or creating dumb strategies. She will achieve power through power - because, at the end of the day, power is what truly matters in all the multiverse.
This deck is meant to move fast so damage as fast as you can. If you would attack an opponent that has a possible blocker, as long as you can take the blocker to the grave, go on! In a game where your resources can be summoned back from the grave (Lord of the Undead), you win. Destroy and discard pesky creatures to activate the ability of Cemetery Reaper.
Maximize draw advantage through Cryptbreaker. In a tribal deck, you wouldn't have any problems with tapping three zombies. This card also works well with Gravecrawler - discard Gravecrawler with Cryptbreaker to produce a Zombie and simply raise Gravecrawler back from the grave!
There are threats of mass removal which Plague Belcher aims to prevent. Yes, you can bring back resources from the grave, but that would make a longer battle and the opponent might have time to set up his deck. Plague Belcher would make them think twice before casting a mass removal, knowing that on turn 4-5, you already have 6-8 zombies.
Remove creature threat instantly by Go for the Throat or Fatal Push. If it comes down to an opponent having more or the same number of creatures as you, give your Zombies menace from Lord of the Accursed. This would be more effective if you already have the Death Baron on the field, you can take more to the grave. Laugh as your opponents helplessly decide whether to block creatures with Deathtouch and Menace at the expense of thinning their ranks or receive damage from 5-8 4/4 Zombies. Either way, they will face the inevitable.
Her Majesty's Generals
Generally, Zombie Lords give other zombies +1/+1 but Liliana is very difficult to please. She demands so much more if you want to serve the Death's Majesty.
Death Baron - Isn't it wonderful to make my zombies untouchable? Make your opponents think twice before blatantly attacking you.
Lord of the Undead - Raise them back from the dead fresh and whole. Death is a pathetic excuse.
Cemetery Reaper - Liliana is the Supreme Necromancer - she commands the dead in all shapes and forms. Death is a tool she wields so effectively to her gain. Bolster your ranks by sending opponent's creatures to the grave and summon them back under your control.
Lord of the Accursed - My new favorite pet is an example why Death is the Primal Power in all the multiverse. Death exists everywhere, even in a desolate, forsaken place!
Diregraf Colossus - My most loyal and effective General. While my other Generals are busy in honing their craft, Diregraf Colossus just works to death! (chuckles) He doesn't require mana for his ability, he serves Her Majesty without any question.
This is an aggro deck and that is no secret. The thing is, this deck simply becomes stronger - the longer the game, the stronger the Horde becomes.
Death exists in every plane, in every corner of the multiverse. What most see as useless or blasphemous, I see power and dominance
