Sigil of Sleep is always fun on an Invisible Stalker .

I'm avoiding creature enchantment because it it too easy to get rid of and there is a good amount of control in my meta. Though your comment was helpful because it made me double check my decklist and realize that Undercity Plague wasn't really worth its spot and put Trepanation Blade in its place which fits yet another card that makes my opponents mill til they hit a land which feeds Lazav, so thanks. If anyone is wondering I left Stolen Identity on purpose because I feel that just its casting could be worth it but as long as I get one hit off with cipher it will def be worth it IMO.

That sounds perfectly reasonable.
As a quick question, I am making a Lazav deck as well, (though with a different focus), and I am trying to decide whether to include Vesuvan Shapeshifter or Sakashima the Impostor . Which would you prefer, and why?
January 14, 2013 9:07 p.m.
@timekeeper: Oh the impostor hands down, she can give you a second Lazav to abuse! or if someone gets a big eldarzi down before you mill/copy it with Lazav then you can use her to get your own copy anyways! also shes cheaper and can still ppls commanders/other legends
@redzebratape: I know oona exiles infact i have a deck that still needs kinks worked out with her based around the idea of exiling, not milling, everyone's deck. Trepanation Blade which was most likely in the maybe board when you looked was placed main deck most likely as you commented. Jace, Memory Adept i have considered repeatedly as I have a spare copy but he tends not to be the greatest in multiplayer in this deck he'd more end up as a card draw engine. which at 5 cmc there are better draw engines, though if i space opens up I will probably put him in as his 0 is quite nice. Glimpse the Unthinkable I have never found to be worth its large price tag, especially for multiplayer EDH, cards like Mind Grind or even Mind Funeral even thou its targets a single player are more worth a slot imo as it ensure you will begin to eat away at their land base.

Ah yes, I forgotten about the whole Legend copying thing. Thanks.
If you get the chance, could you look at my Mine Is The Face In The Mirror?
Oh and +1. :P

Are you sure about Crypt Ghast ? I wanna see the rule. If it's really legal, it will go in my deck no doubt.
January 15, 2013 9:53 a.m.
Nevermind, I saw the rule. I hope they won't change it. :P
January 15, 2013 10:04 a.m.
Extort of Crypt Ghast + Cipher is going to be insane !
January 15, 2013 10:08 a.m.
@redzebratape: thanks for your comments! Ratchet Bomb is in there so I have a counter to someone trying to combo out using tokens which happens quite frequently in my playgroup. As for Caged Sun I had considered taking it out, but I feel its worthwhile because if you look though the cards in the deck you'll see that most of the black cards need 2/3 black mana whereas most of the blue ones only need a single blue. Also nearly all my creatures have black in their color identity so they will get the 1/1 buff as one. I may try to make room for Faerie Conclave , card:Minamo, School at Water's Edge.
What are your opinions on Hinder and Spell Crumple in this deck? I have gone back and forth on them so many times, they are good for tucking really annoying spells/commanders but at the same time my control focus ended a long time ago. but at the same time I dont like having zero control so I've considered adding in more kill/spot removal magic. opinions?
January 15, 2013 10:59 a.m.
also -1 Exquisite Blood +1 Subversion or replace the slot with land/creature?
January 15, 2013 11:01 a.m.
quick change to note -1 Exquisite Blood +1 Soothsaying
January 15, 2013 11:32 a.m.
Why Lightning Greaves , Mask of Avacyn and Swiftfoot Boots just for the haste ?
January 15, 2013 11:38 a.m.
@gab80: red is dead on. they are for the protection a big ol' lord of the void or Consuming Aberration aren't worth much if they can be removed with a simple Murder the next turn.
@redzebratape: I would use that but as it is I'm trying to fit in other cards like Oversold Cemetery Consecrated Sphinx the sword, and the disk. Also i have five pieces of creature protection as it is (counting Darksteel Plate ). What are your opinions of Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre in this deck? he is protected in that he is indestructible blows up on something on entry and makes whoever I'm going against sac 4 things, also he shuffles my grave back in which means I could drop Elixir of Immortality
January 15, 2013 12:45 p.m.
After doing some playtesting my land drops have been pretty consistent. Once i either draw or tutor for Tezzeret the Seeker my mana soars up. Soothsaying was also an amazing find and works fabulously. I've made a number of changes so if you didn't look though again you may want too. I am considering removing my instants for more lands but that would require more testing preferably testing it as is in against my local playgroup to see whether the non Capsize instants are needed or not.

... idk why it posted that three times but just ignore it -.-'

Have you considered Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni ? I think she goes with the theme of the deck and can rebuy some useful effects like Trinket Mage Baleful Strix and card:Pilgrim's Eye
January 22, 2013 10:27 p.m.
Oh, and I totally forgot Dire Undercurrents is a beast in UB creature-heavy decks, it does so many nasty things.
January 22, 2013 10:31 p.m.
Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni was in the initial creation of this deck but was removed due to high cmc and lack of evasion.
Dire Undercurrents would be the same role as Coastal Piracy and Larceny which why it would only take one slot as opposed to two, which is nice, but it only triggers when a creature ETB whereas Coastal Piracy and Larceny trigger whenever i hit. I will keep it in the maybe board thou in case i change my mind later or wish to squeeze in a different card and need to compress for space.

Unfortunately Crypt Ghast is illegal in this deck since it has a white mana symbol printed on it. Would've loved to play him in my own Lazav deck too.. :(
