Feed Lazav until you bring in the beets (beats). Get it? because it's a vegetable.

Archangel of Thune - solid card. Nothing else to it.

Obzedat - I prefer it over Baron; always have. It's just personal preference. Feel free to switch them if you want.

Lazav - feed him. Just do it.

Mirko Vosk - feeds Lazav.

Thrull Paraste - solid card; allows for early blockers so you can survive until the late game.

Fiendslayer Paladin - lifelink first strike 2/2 for 3.

Elspeth - she's good, but the deck doesn't need a lot of her to function. Hence why Jace isn't in this.

Sphinx's Revelation - because it's a card.

Hero's Downfall - because it's a card.

Syncopate - easier to cast than Dissolve; faster as well.

Detention Sphere - get rid of anything bothering you.

Whip of Erebos - reanimates in case something dies. Lifelink doesn't hurt.

Tome Scour - feeds Lazav. I prefer it to Thoughtseize for the reason that you don't know what's in their deck; what's in their hand doesn't matter because we have Verdicts, Spheres, Syncopates, and Hero's Downfall.

Supreme Verdict - feeds Lazav and clears the board.

Mind Grind - feeds Lazav. This is midrange, not mill. We're not trying to deck out our opponent; we're trying to feed Lazav and make it hard on them because, hey, the Dimir are douches.

SIDEBOARD

Far / Away - sides in if detention sphere isn't enough

Dissolve - for control match-ups

Syncopate - if you really need more.

Thoughtseize - kills combo decks.

Duskmantle Seer - for control match-ups.

Nightveil Specter - for mirrors and midrange.

Blood Baron of Vizkopa - for w/b or esper mirrors.
