Overview

This deck is meant to be high powered casual. There’s no infinite combos and is meant to kill via combat damage. There are some stax’ish pieces more meant to shut down some combo decks in our play group. Are the dual lands needed, not really just using them cause I have them.

The goals are to ramp quickly and get Jodah online so can taken advantage of “Legendary Cascade” ability to further increase Jodah’s Lord ability pumping up all our legendaries. You do have to be careful on "how fast" as its easy to become arch-enemy very quickly when Jodah his the board.

Goal 1 - Get Jodah Out

To achieve that we have to ramp and fix our manabase quickly. Here are things that help:

• Avacyn's Pilgrim
• Birds of Paradise
• Delighted Halfling - has a side benefit of protect casting our legendary spells
• Esika, God of the Tree  
• Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea

• Relic of Legends - very under rated card if you run a lot of legendaries in your deck as this can tap them immediately for mana when they enter.
• Timeless Lotus - little on the high side, but this is help continue casting creatures and its legendary.
• The Great Henge - Another legendary artifact, but I don't expect this to be an early play

Goal 2 - Protect Jodah

We have Jodah out, now we need to protect him so we can cascade into more legendaries.

Goal 3 - Get lots of Legendaries

Now Jodah's out and protected... time to get more creatures on the board to leverage Jodah's Lord +X/+X ability. Besides Jodah's cascade ability to get creatures out need to still fill our hand. Note: purposely don't have Rhystic Study or Mystic Remora, I purposely chose to keep them out as I run them in a lot of other decks and wanted to mix up the strategy a bit.

Goal 4 - Winning

So how do we win... Hit them for a lot of damage...

• Urza's Ruinous Blast - wipe the board of all non-legendary and swing for the fences.
• Cyclonic Rift - wipe the board to clear the way.
• Nylea, God of the Hunt/Primal Rage - Give them trample
• Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer - make opponents fight each other and wipe each others creatures out. With Jodah and a few legendaries its very easy to have all opponents large creatures attach everyone but you.

Other Stuff

Soft Lock board Protection

There are a few ways to protect your board from being targeted:

• A combination of any of these two: Kira, Great Glass-Spinner, Shalai, Voice of Plenty, or Sigarda, Font of Blessings and throw Mithril Coat or even Flowering of the White Tree/Gold-Forged Thopteryx can greatly slow down opponents ways of dealing with you.

The Stax like pieces

These are things that make people scoop if the soft lock gets in place as it can turn peoples decks right off.

• Drana and Linvala - stopping activated abilities of opponents creatures (and stealing them)
• Linvala, Keeper of Silence - stopping activated abilities of opponents creatures
• Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines - stopping opponents activated abilities
• Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite - dealing with token decks

Areas for Improvement

• finding the right balances of creatures and making sure have enough legendary spells that are 2 or less to cascade into... had to remove some higher casting cost cards as I was starting to notice that I was "failed to find" when casting 3 or 4 mana value spells.
