2022 Competetive (Safely C Tier) Urzaless MUD Decklist. Runs 8 soul lands, 8 locus lands, 4 metalworker, 4 grim monolith for fast mana, use the fast mana to boost out your golems, creatures, and lock pieces. As soon as possible try to play a lock piece such as Trinisphere or Chalice of the Void turn 1 or 2. This can quickly stagger top decks in the format (elves, delver) or outright crumble gameplans (ANT). After your opponent struggles to keep up with mana and play magic, your path to victory manifests itself typically in 3 ways. You can either slowly beat them down with creatures, tutor a blightsteel colosus for an instant kill, or permanently lock them out of the game with any of karn/mycosynth lattice/liquimetal coating/crucible of worlds/wasteland.
NOtes:
4 Cavern of souls and only 2 creature types in the deck means resilience against FoW; name construct or golem. Unsure of Urza's saga has a place in the list; might need to be an auto-include if I'm running crucibles anyway but haven't tested it. It is hard to find spots of more lands, the list is pretty tight. I'm sure not to run big top-heavy bombs such as Ugin because they frequently felt like "win-more" cards. Usually at that same state in the game I could more easily boost out a couple lodestone golems or karn + liquimetalcoating/mycosynth lattice with that same mana and diversify my threats without having to bloat my hand or deck with overly-expensive 8 drops that do nothing in the deck's weakest matchups.
Biggest Strengths: Can turn-1 chalice-lock competitive decks that over rely on 0 or 1 drops
Biggest Weeakness: Aggressive decks with lots of creatures (elves, burn, maverick, DnT) can quickly overrun the deck and kill you before you can set up a lock or play a big creature to defend.
S tier Lands that could also be included: Karakas, urza's saga, blast zone
