Revised 1.1 Been playtesting against a white control deck and boros aggro. Some wins but not enough consistency,
Undead Alchemist
, Vengeful Pharaoh, Havengul Lich just doesnt add enough bang for the buxx. The dmg/life loop from
Exquisite Blood
+ Sanguine Bond is currently being tested but looks bleak without any Dark Ritual or Cabal Ritual to back it up, also it breaks the tribal.
Grimgrin, Corpse-Born doesnt need to be untapped to sac creatures to buff, abuse Gravecrawler to build him into a one man army or sneak damage in with
Diregraf Captain
.
Other win conditions include:
Grimoire of the Dead
get a zombie horde in 3 turns!(you can choose when to activate the second ability so it might be worth waiting a few turns)
Endless Ranks of the Dead i had a game where i finished with over 1k zombies on the field with this card.
Zombie Apocalypse does it need any explanation? anyone facing a zombie deck has seen this card and learnt what true fear means!
Call to the Grave Notice how it says you cant sac zombies but at the same time as long as a creature remains on the battlefield this card does aswell? yes it's that cheesy!
Mainboard Creatures:
Grimgrin, Corpse-Born: sacking order goes Gravecrawler(instant win condition together with
Diregraf Captain
) > Zombie Token >
Vedalken Ghoul
Diregraf Captain
: pair it up with Grimgrin, Corpse-Born for instant win condition or just play it to buff and make for a nasty detterent.
Lich Lord of Unx: While it's first ability is meh the second really makes a difference and might be a win condition paired with Endless Ranks of the Dead
Phyrexian Crusader: This guy is a powerhouse, being protected from some of the nastiest spells in the game by default and having first strike, pair it up with a Death Baron and very few things can even hope to stop him.
Death Baron: This makes every zombie in the game being able to kill anything short of first strike/double strike.
Gravecrawler: Short of being exiled once you get it out your opponent is stuck with this card. It's and excellent card for sacking and does provide a cheesy win condition as discussed earlier.
Vedalken Ghoul
: A cheap card which only drawback is specific mana. It also makes for a nasty detterent since your opponent will lose 4 life if blocked.
