Absolutely, I think Mutavault is very helpful, but it's not essential. Eliminating the Muties would even make the mana base more pure, so you'd never get into that awkward '1 plains' situation where you are waiting too long to cast your Precinct Captain or Banisher Priest .

Playtested against my JOU Athreos Humans. Banisher Priest and Frontline Medic were key against it. I run frontline medic myself, but since my desired turn 3 play is Athreos, God of Passage , i was behind on that respect. Post sideboard, my deck took game 2 thanks to me siding in 12 removal spells. Game 3, Banisher Priest and Glare of Heresy were just enough to prevent me from getting through while your unblocked Cavalry Pegasus humans tapped for the win.

I defintiely made wrong decisions, taking out brimaz instead of medic made your dudes indestructible and i just couldn't deal with that.

I like this deck, it's powerful and it's monowhite. I always dreamt with making a good monowhite. +1

Thanks, Energycore, for the thorough playtesting! You even sideboarded for me! :) It's good to see the oft-maligned Cavalry Pegasus coming through for the victory.

Thanks for the +1, Meetreality88!

I ended up mainboarding the peggy in my own deck too, the evasion is just that good. +1!

Two suggestions:

1) Fiendslayer Paladin

2) Blessing

I've got a friend who runs a very similar deck, but with those two cards included as well as Ajani, Caller of the Pride . It's amazing how powerful mono-white gets when it suddenly has fire-breathing.

Thanks for the suggestions... I really want to put Fiendslayer Paladin s into my sideboard to put in against removal-heavy red/black decks. I have been thinking about that for a while, I just hadn't yet because the Fiendslayers I could use WERE in my friend's deck, but they aren't anymore. They will be from now on, they should have been already.

They'll just be in sideboard for now, though, because they are not better than my other three-drops - Frontline Medic , Banisher Priest , and Spear of Heliod are all more important for this deck to win.

Blessing is cool (I even have some Revised edition ones still hanging around), but I have found that the real power in this deck comes from having a large number of creatures on the battlefield, most of the time. Adding Blessing would a) require eliminating some creatures from the deck, and b) create a 'single-attacker focus' where that one creature becomes the focal point for 2-for-1 removal.

Ajani didn't make the cut for the same reasons... he's a three-drop in a deck that has no more room for three-drops, and he's not a creature.

I'm personally running both Hall of Triumph and Spear of Heliod in my aggro build. Sure the spear can destroy threats late game, but being able to have both in play at once is incredible, despite the fact the Hall doesn't boost Mutavault. I'm still trying to figure out some of the finer points of my deck, such as sideboarding, the ratio of one drops to two drops to three drops, etc. This is a great list to take notes from. Maybe take a look at my list and provide some advice? Thanks!

I also play a white weenie deck (Great White, Fast and Deadly, and I find that Celestial Flare is a good answer to Blood Baron of Vizkopa , which you said was a problem. Control decks don't usually attack with more than one creature at a time, and Celestial Flare can help against monocolored decks too.

Also, consider changing some Spear of Heliod s for Hall of Triumph for two reasons.

  1. As an aggro deck, you often won't have enough mana to activate the Spear's ability.

  2. Hall of Triumph is not an enchantment and thus is vulnerable to almost no removal, as there are not many good artifacts in standard.

You write in the comments that you sided in Boros Reckoner s, but I don't see it listed in the sideboard here! xD Great deck otherwise, simple and strong. +1

I'm running a similar deck and I'd like to test Heliod, God of the Sun . Is he a reliable cmc4 card? I think its vigilance might prove useful with the new M15 convoke cards (like Return to the Ranks , which I absolutely want to try) and its 2/1 tokens useful against heavy removal decks, such as red and boros burn decks.

I love having the two Heliods in the deck, they're very useful. Nothing in this deck is unreliable, it's a very solid build. Getting Heliod in combination with Frontline Medic makes for the most wonderful attacks!
