You could use some of Sultai's 4 toughness subtheme cards here.

So Anafenza, the Foremost and Brave the Sands don't really work together because she only puts plus one counters on tapped creatures. Unless your just using her for her second ability. just an observation

@theseax Using it for its second ability and its toughness for a 3 drop 4/4 with positive abilities. I actually didnt notice that contradiction, so i will probably look for a substitue for either of them.

the card is good, and i think it has great potential but maybe Archers' Parapet it can tap and then get plus ones plus its 5 toughness or you could play some stuff with convoke. maybe add Hardened Scales or Ivorytusk Fortress so that your creatures that you used with convoke can be untapped later and still be used. although i think ivorytusk may be a bit expensive mana wise

@theseax Funny thing, Archers' Parapet was in the mainboard, and i took it out for some reason, putting it right back in now lol

I'd avoid Brave the Sands like the plague. Bad card.

@Energycore Any suggetions on replacements for it

Probably Sylvan Caryatid since it can both ramp you that little bit and fix your mana.

Thats smart, decent toughness too, thank you. @Energycore

Ajani's Pridemate would work very well here and serve as a decent win con. Also, Sorin, Solemn Visitor would be pretty good. Congregate is good in the sideboard against token decks as well as early agro strats.

Do you run enough devotion to run two Karametra, God of Harvests ? If so you don't even need fetch lands, you just need to activate her ability whenever you cast a creature spell to bring out either a plains or a forest tapped on the battlefield. If you want a reference to why I run it check out my deck: Abzan: My real deck.

Sorry, I meant Mana Confluence not fetch lands.

How does this deck fair against other competitive standard decks?
September 21, 2014 1:16 a.m.
EvilKidsMeal says... #16
@LegitAstroBoy I belive it holds up okay against others, ive played about 10 games and lost about 3 of them yesterday, and today ive played three games and won all of them, (On untap obviously, not with real cards) Obviously thats just my expreince for two days, so well have to see in the future as i play more games with it
Against aggro- Fairs okay, Congregate will basically give you all your health back if they did damage and the begining. And Disowned Ancestor being 4 toughness for one mana can help stall aggro decks early.
Against Midrange- Good as well. Starts up at a decent speed and keeps up constant pressure.
Against Control- Not so sure on that one, considering ive only played against two control decks and i lost against one and won the other, so ill have to get back to you on that one

It seems like this deck is pretty good with the current meta seeing as it's a lot slower and weaker. I really like this deck! +1 from me!

I would take out the Wall of Essence for 1 more Nyx-Fleece Ram , Sylvan Caryatid , and Disowned Ancestor .

You have FAR too many tap lands. Remove all of your tap lands but Sandsteppe Citadel . Then add 1 of each of the following scry lands: Temple of Malady , Temple of Silence and Temple of Plenty . Then 3 Windswept Heath 's followed by 1 Caves of Koilos and 1x Llanowar Wastes , and one more of whatever you want. Those tap lands really slowed you down and made you lose many games against my aggro-midrange mardu warrior tribal.

I would add 2 Siegecraft for buffing up your Disowned Ancestor then slap down a Kin-Tree Invocation for an early 8/8 for one black and one green.

Also take out some dual lands and add some basics, plains and forests are in particular. If you use Karametra, God of Harvests you will want mainly plains and forests. If you can get 4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . It will help for black mana while leaving you with more chances to use her ability. You have 18 creatures to activate it possibly. At that rate you Won't need many dual or tri lands.
