Spell Rupture is a no go with only 8 creatures. Especially when 3/8 of them have power 1. Even if Delver makes it a mana leak.

My thoughts at least.

Fleeting Distraction is another thought in place of Thought Scour that can sometimes save you a couple lifepoints in a game. It's whichever you prefer though, as Thought Scour is superb as well.

Negate is a card that I honestly like to mainboard a couple of. It is a very strong card, allowing you to counter ANYTHING but a creature card. This includes Planeswalkers. I simply believe it to be a fantastic card that can stop many of the threats that face decks nowadays.

Other than that I like this deck a lot. You shouldn't have all nonbasic lands anyway, so its not so bad that you had to cut down to what you really have.

Take a peek at my Delver deck at deck:rug-delver-21-02-13-3 and let me know what you think man! I love Delver!

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll take out Spell Rupture and trade it for maybe some Negate s or Counterflux s.

Fleeting Distraction doesn't work as well as Thought Scour if neither of us can get creatures out, and i aim to try miracle in both turns for Terminus and Entreat the Angels mainly with Azorius Charm and Thought Scour . I'll try to make room for Fleeting Distraction but i don't aim to get 3-4, maybe just 2 will be enough.

I put the land as all 4 before because i was in a rush when i put this deck up, i'll fix it up later, but i am missing most of the dual lands.

I like your RUG Delver! +1!

I would consider adding a few Mystic Retrieval so that you can dig through your graveyard to reuse your best spells. It works great in my American Control deck, check it out if you get the chance! +1 from me!

Thanks for the Feedback, i like Mystic Retrieval, so i'll make some space for it. Since i don't have much of a budget for Snapcaster Mage, Mystic Retrieval will work wonders for me.

Thanks! also +1 to your control deck i like it!

Yeah, i probably do. Do you know what is should put in? i can't get my hands on expensive cards like Snapcaster Mage and Geist of Saint Traft because i'm aiming for budget deck.

Cathedral Sanctifier is a solid one drop in control. Allows for a turn one play and some health gain.

bunsniper says... #9

I added some Spark Trooper and Cathedral Sanctifiers to see if my deck runs better with more creatures :D

nmada514 says... #10

I don't think that Spark Trooper is a good fit for a control deck. For a 4 drop, you would much rather have access to a board wipe rather than a creature that has no board prescence. Cut the troopers, max out your Supreme Verdict.

bunsniper says... #11

i mainly put Spark Trooper to synergise with Runechanter's Pike to gain life while also dealing some damage. I am gonna try playtest with Spark Trooper to see if it works out. If not then i'll make space for board clearing

toss in a few Talrand, Sky Summoner a little expensive mana cost wise but with all the instance and sorceries youll be popping out 2/2 drakes in no time. just something to think about.

Boros Reckoner is a better defence cad then Augur of Bolas . id drop niv mizzet and drogskull because they are not that great to be honest. like in every other deck, some one can kill spell them easy. you need Snapcaster Mage , thats a staple in american control. take a look at my american control, because to be honest yours is a little wrong for the format

America America, god shed his grace on me!

I'm trying to keep this deck budget as i cannot access the cards that you have suggested. In my playgroup, my deck is doing decently fine but sometimes going a bit slow, but if i was in competitive, i would definitely go for those cards. thanks for the suggestions

I recommend Assemble the Legion as an alternate win-con. If they tap out for, say, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage then you can just drop this next. Spend the rest of the game keeping your counters and such open to save it and the game will win itself without you doing anything other than swinging. This is my deck that uses it as the primary win-con: Marshalled Legions hopefully you can find something from that that will be helpful.

Thanks for the suggestion! i really love how Assemble the Legion works and i always wanted to throw it into my mainboard. Any suggestions on what i should board out for it?

Augur of Bolas will sometimes hinder it's usage in games unfortunately but it's the price to pay haha

Considering that you are playing 6 counterspells between Counterflux and Dissipate I would drop the two Negate s and play with two Assemble the Legion s to see if you feel it is worth its inclusion.

The deck description still includes some old cards that you seem to have removed already.

Against control you should sideboard in Dispel so you have a 1cmc bullet for their counters and Sphinx's Revelation . I would also use some Snapcaster Mage .

bunsniper says... #24

I am trying to get my hands on more spinxs revelations and snapcasters but my current budget says otherwise :P

This deck needs Render Silent , swap out Dissipate for it and you're golden. Also, consider some planeswalkers like Jace, Memory Adept for an alternate win-con and Jace, Architect of Thought and Tamiyo, the Moon Sage for draw power. They help tons in this type of deck, I have a similar one that's just blue/white if you want to check it out: Ætherling Wins.
