Not bad. Another chance at hitting Melira or Thrun would definitely not be a bad thing.

I agree.

What to remove??

December 25, 2014 11:15 p.m.

-Fulcrum says... #5

We could go down a Remand, Thoughtseize, Apostle's Blessing, maybe even a land.

December 25, 2014 11:17 p.m.

TheHroth says... #6

I definitely don't want to remove Remand. Lets try an Apostle's Blessing.

WARPOPE says... #7

as much as i love Surgical Extraction i feel Apostle's Blessing is much more useful to our goal as well as providing much needed protection to our key creatures. thoughts?

Noobishness assuredly but once we reach zero life with all of our safeguards in place we will no longer be able to use the life lose option in the phyrexian mana symbol.

TheHroth says... #9

Correct. Can't pay 2 life if we don't have 2 life to pay!

December 26, 2014 12:58 p.m.

TheGamer says... #10

TheHroth: That's what I always thought about life paying, but on MTGO yesterday, someone killed themselves off of a pay life ability.

-Fulcrum says... #11

If you have the exact number of life to pay, then you can pay it. But you can't pay 2 life if you only have 1 life.

I believe Zur the Enchanter still needs a mainboard spot after testing.

BlackyMTG says... #13

City of Brass also is the only land that works with Phyrexian Unlife btw, so cut Mana Confluence

TheHroth says... #14

@Kiora_Fan-01

Good catch there.

Not so sure about mainboard Zur unless we cut Thrun. We can't have more non-flip card because of Delver b

Let's put it to vote zur vs Thrun.

December 26, 2014 5:09 p.m.

TheHroth says... #16

Lets put this to a vote:

Do we want Zur the Enchanter or Thrun, the Last Troll as a MB slot?

Good idea on having this put to vote, hateindigital.

WARPOPE says... #17

my thoughts. i feel thrun may be appropriate for sideboard here but zurs ability to fetch the unlife is strong enough for us to add him swell as bring down our number of Phyrexian Unlife to 1 allowing us to have a better delver ratio. while thrun is really just is an amazing creature super relevant against a lot of builds its a tough call I'm sure... but my vote is for Zur the Enchanter.

December 26, 2014 5:37 p.m.

TheGamer says... #18

My vote is Thrun, the Last Troll. I feel Zur the Enchanter is good with what we're trying to do, but is just so underwhelming. In my experience playing Jund, Thrun, the Last Troll just wins games on its own. Hexproof ensures it is protected, and regenerate ensures it lives no matter what. yes, Wrath of God kills it but that's one card, that only sees one of's in sideboards.

-Fulcrum says... #19

I vote Thrun. Like TheGamer mentioned, it has the potential to just win a game on its own. Zur is a sorcery speed tutor that takes two turns and can be removed fairly easily.

BlackyMTG says... #20

I vote Zur, but I don't see a reason as too why we can't run both. Thrun though is a powerful SB card, but just too slow against other aggro decks that the format is filled with.

I vote V-Clique! We lack ways to actually win the game. Delver is a powerful card, but it's not going to do 20 damage. Vendilion Clique is a repeatable Lava Spike, that can snag a dead card from our hand, or disrupts our opponents. It might seem small, but our combo matchup seems terrible, and this is a slight hedge.

But I like Thrun, the Last Troll more than Zur.

TheGamer says... #22

tooTimid: V-Clique is definitely worth considering, but i have something to say about your reasoning. You said that Delver wont do 20 damage, but V-Clique is a repeatable Lava Spike. Well just remember that Delver is actually a bigger creature than V-Clique once all the ETB crap is done with.

I think using Zur the Enchanter in SB in place of Melira, Sylvok Outcast would be a good idea. I can't see a second copy of Melira being terribly useful, whereas Zur can tutor in Unlife as well as all our SB enchantments.

WARPOPE says... #24

id like to possibly delve into the option Kiora_Fan-01 brought up we could maintain the same ratio removing one of the copies of Phyrexian Unlife and adding in both thrun and zur... if not i do think the sideboard zur with the rest of the enchantments is logical as it introduces him second game changing some of the play style. I'm about to order the staples we've all agreed upon and hopefully have this all sleeved up in a few weeks. this looks beastly!

TheGamer: I think we can agree that if we could play more than 4 Delvers we probably would.

V-Clique is a slightly more expensive delver that's better when you're losing, better against combo, and more flexible.

Delvers are a lot better at doing 20 when you have multiples.
