The deck is built to work with or with out Mayael. There are many sources of mana acceleration, most of them are rocks. The choice to play rocks over the staple Kodama's Reach, Cultivate, Explosive Vegetation is due to Genesis Wave and Primal Surge which are back breaking if they resolve.

There are quite a few permanent tutor effects such as Survival of the Fittest, Birthing Pod, Brutalizer Exarch, Fierce Empath , Mwonvuli Beast Tracker and Pattern of Rebirth to give the deck a kind of tool box approach.

I have tried to take care of all of the decks needs through creatures, such as wrath (Balefire Dragon, Novablast Wurm, Scourge of Kher Ridges), card draw (Greater Good, Garruk, Primal Hunter, Drumhunter , Solemn Simulacrum Soul of the Harvest and Yavimaya Elder), recursion (Karmic Guide, Eternal Witness, Artisan of Kozilek and Genesis), alternative ways to cheat in fatties (Elvish Piper, Quicksilver Amulet, Garruk, Caller of Beasts , Mosswort Bridge and Spinerock Knoll) and artifact/land/enchantment destruction (terastadon, Brutalizer Exarch, Acidic Slime and Woodfall Primus).

The deck works really well, and thanks to the combination of rocks, ramp and mana-doublers it gets there fast.

If the deck had any issues it would be the lack of spot removal, which could be easily remedied with additional creature inclusion such as Duplicant and Luminate Primordial. Regardless the deck is a beast and a threat on any table.

The addition of several haste enchantments, creatures and artifacts makes every creature a sizable threat the second they resolve. Akroma's Memorial, In the Web of War , Xenagos, God of Revels, Urabrask the Hidden and Lightning Greaves).

I'm really enjoying the deck. It seems to be a strong contender against other competitive builds. My playgroup does not allow infinite combos (5 activations per turn only), so I have avoided many inclusions in to the deck as a consequence.

Feel free to offer any suggestions. Thanks.

Updates Add

Iona, Shield of Emeria has been moved out and replaced with Bloodfire Colossus which not only is a great board wipe, but also has excellent synergy with Vigor, Stalking Vengeance and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. I added Crater Hellion for the same reason. Cutting Iona, Shield of Emeria was a tough decision, but too often, unless I'm playing against mono colors, she has little effect and usually eats removal if I cant find a way to make her indestructible.

Baneslayer Angel was removed due to a lack of explosive presence and replaced with Blightsteel Colossus which if tutored in via Tooth and Nail, Genesis Wave, Primal Surge, Mayael the Anima, Elvish Piper, Pattern of Rebirth, Defense of the Heart or Quicksilver Amulet alongside a haste enchantment/creature (Xenagos, God of Revels or Urabrask the Hidden) some one is going to die.

I also removed the temple lands, whilst they did sometimes provide good utility through the scry ability a mid-late game temple can be disastrous if i need the mana that turn to cast one of the many fatties in the deck to stay in the game. They were replaced with Boseiju, Who Shelters All, which can help my Primal Surge, Tooth and Nail or Genesis Wave resolve unhindered, and Forbidden Orchard ( a 1/1 is not a problem when most of my creatures have either flying or trample.

Finally I also added Defense of the Heart and Tooth and Nail to cheat in synergistic fatties. I removed Yavimaya Elder as it was generally really lack luster (I considered replacing it with Yavimaya Dryad or burnished heart, but a lack of room and high frequency of mana rocks made it unfavorable) and Chaos Warp due to the number of other tuck/exile/destruction options I have that are attached to permanents and don't interfere with Primal Surge.
