Loam Assault is a deck, you might want to consider Seismic Assault as your win con.

Ugh! Though I know a truly original deck is difficult to do. I really thought I had something slightly unique. :(

But thanks to your suggestion I did find a nice thread on mtgsalvation on loam assault decks. Seismic is good, just like vortex but without the recurring activation cost. I'm def going to keep tinkering with this though. It could be fun to play at fnm.

Have you considered something like crucible of worlds?

Funny you mention that. My other deck Landslide (Modern land recursion) started with Crucible of Worlds. And though it's a great card, and possibly a SB option. It doesn't serve the MB well. Since you really only need 3-4 lands in play, and you dredge Life from the Loam over and over and discard lands from your hand. Putting them back into play actually slows things down, and crucible winds up taking a valuable slot. Thanks for looking and the suggestion. You rock!! :)
