I would say i want to win by the end of turn six consistently, but I've won as early as turn four.

Whenever I can pod the scholar into an ooze with a source of haste in the graveyard I usually can win. Optimally I'll have a Stinkweed Imp in my hand so I can pitch it right away into a win.

Ummmm you can fetch Blood Crypt , Steam Vents , or Stomping Ground .......
It says "mountain" not "basic land" so you can fetch dual lands with it.

Hmm...I had one in, he was never overly impressive, but I'm thinking I need to diversify. The one shot kill is fun but I find it needs resilience...I dunno. I fear card:Tormod's Crypt.

Yeah, the deck is purely a combo deck, they all serve a purpose in the goal of creating an infinite number of infinite/infinite trampling oozes, attack and then if I get fogged I sac them all to deal infinite damage and gain infinite life.

But it's probably fine to cut the propagator and Death Cultist , infinite ooze tokens is probably overkill. There's no better kind of kill though.

lol agreed, pinging like Cunning Sparkmage is decent with the ooze also

Now that the shocklands are being reprinted, I should have no problems with mana for this deck.
I'm finding I can reliably win by turn five between the Hedron Crab s, Faithless Looting and the scholar/imp combo, more Thornling s seem to have made a difference.

Don't forget Devoted Druid + Quillspike for an infinitely large creature.

I cut Faithless Looting to have more Quillspike s and Devoted Druid s. Strong combos are strong

Mulch might do well in here. Fate Transfer might also see good use against spot removal.

I see where you're coming from with Mulch , its a good idea. I do find myself needing a color from time to time, having milled my ooze and an Unburial Rites . I recently cut Noxious Revival in favor of a couple Life from the Loam . That card is silly.
My -1/-1 counters don't spend much time on my creatures, but I like your line of thought. I usually generate them and then spend them right away. Grim Poppet is a mean board wiper that does it all himself...sometimes lol.
Thanks!

Interesting concept!
Why not any large beaters w/ a higher CMC? You're running Birthing Pod , thus could use a Griselbrand , Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , etc.

This deck is purely devoted to combo. It does chain to Grim Poppet but my four-drop wins me the game.
Thornling is a useful beater who gives some inevitability though.

Right, but don't rely solely on Necrotic Ooze to finish the game. You've already posted some weaknesses. Some other card hosers for your deck are Surgical Extraction , Slaughter Games , Haunting Echoes , Rest in Peace , Detention Sphere , Angel of Serenity , and others. Don't get me wrong, I love what you're doing here and encourage you to continue doing so. What I am saying is that a few big baddies like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , Griselbrand , and others wouldn't be a bad idea. ESPECIALLY with Unburial Rites .

This is probably true. I have some wiggle room as a few of the slots are filler still and it would be nice to have a plan B. I still would get hosed by graveyard hate but they'd have to be more selective.

Thanks, it's nice to have that outside perspective. Sometimes you get so focused on a game plan and forget the plan is to win, not win "this way"

For sure man, no problem. Again, quite creative and Johnny of you; I dig it! Just trying to be helpful.
When I make a deck, I usually have more than 1 win-con and/or back up plans.

I have to somehow put Wickerbough Elder and Mycosynth Lattice into this deck. They'd be a nice combo with Necrotic Ooze and Devoted Druid
