Summer camps were an important part of my life. I taught Archery and Rocketry at a day camp for years, and also took care of 13-14 year old boys. This camp was gaga for Magic. I played when I was a kid so I had tons of cards way older than the kids so I thought it would be fun to bond with the kids through the game. Well it worked, holy cow. I would make weird timmy/johnny decks that would make dumb recurring combos to do a billion damage or make them draw two dozen metric butt-tons of cards. And they would gaze at the board and wonder what just happened to them and they would love it. The decks were trash, mind you, I wasn't trying to be mean. The kids were always clamoring to play me and beat specific decks of mine. They'd want to conquer the elves, or the birds, or the stuffy doll, or the shadow legion. There were some great times.
But frankly sometimes I didn't have the time or the desire to play a game occasionally. So I always wondered how I could kill myself on turn one. There were some ways with infinite damage combos but they could just as easily kill my opponent and I wanted something that was completely suicidal. I got this idea from the YouTuber TheMagicManSam who heard it from someone else. This deck is not just suicidal. It is nihilism in card game form.
The deck finds a way to exile every card in your hand and deck and pass the turn with a clear board. Your opponent can play something if they like, but if they pass the game is over. No cards on the board. I think that's special.
Swamp into two Dark Ritual. Cast Tormod's Crypt for free. Cast Demonic Consultation naming something that isn't in your deck, exiling your library. I think I'd name Black Lotus just to mess with the kids' heads. Cast Sinkhole targeting your Swamp. Cast One with Nothing to discard your hand. Pop the Crypt to exile the cards in your graveyard and pass the turn. You pass the turn with nothing, your entire deck in exile, a draw step away from the end. It's beautiful.
Street Wraith for free cycling. Edge of Autumn is practically the same if you have a spare swamp in your hand
