The first time running the deck tonight and I realized that I have a lot of work left to do. I always overestimate control matches and underestimate aggro.
Round 1 Standard/Budget U/G Ramp
I was able to get aggressive faster than they were and was hitting for 10 to 12 on turns 3 and 4 both games. I brought in any removal I had out of the sideboard. To deal with the bigs. Got some easy wins.2-0
Round 2 Budget Black Zombie Stuff?
He had some hand disruption and some graveyard synergies. But my deck was a lot more streamlined. I did hit the Call the Bloodline instead of the Zombie Infestation both games and it was clearly worse. I brought in the Leylines but never saw them. But I won pretty easily 2-0
Round 3 White Weenie
I was a little worried about this matchup because I wasn't prepared for linear aggro strategies. Such as this one or the Soul Sisters deck that was running around. I durdled for a few turns even dredged my brownscale a couple times but just didnt find what I needed. Sideboarded into anything that gained life or killed creatures. Even a Torpor Orb that I added to the sideboard last minute. Game 2 I mulled down to 4 trying to find a darkblast. Never found it. Never even had a hand that could handle the aggro. Lost quickly 0-2.
Round 4 Dredgevine
All in Jund colored dredgevine. Game 1 I was hit on turn 3 with a lotleth troll. Discard 4 creatures. Gravecrawler. Double Vengevine. Didnt stand a chance. Games 2 and 3 I had opening hands with Leyline of the Void and was capable of having enough aggro before he could recover. 2-1
Finished in 3rd 3-1
White Weenie got first. Temur Ascendancy Combo got 2nd. Scapeshift 4th
