Creature (1)

Maybeboard

Aristocrats-style lifedrain deck, focusing on your own creatures dying and punishing the opponent for it.

Blood Artist , Cruel Celebrant , and Zulaport Cutthroat are the main threats, all doing essentially the same thing - drain 1 life whenever one of your creatures dies.

Bitterblossom and Hidden Stockpile give you a reliable source of creatures to sacrifice or let die, and Corpse Knight pings the enemy every time one comes in. Nether Traitor also serves as cheap, recursive fodder.

Cartel Aristocrat is your main source of free sacrifice, letting you kill off any number of your creatures at your whims - while also serving as a difficult-to-remove blocker or evasive attacker. Also combos nicely with Rally the Ancestors , allowing you to bring back everything in your graveyard and then sac it all before they get exiled.

Cauldron Familiar is all sorts of fun utility, draining life on it's own while also being recursive every turn when combining with Witch's Oven (another source of sacrifice). The cat both dying and coming back can further drain the opponent when combined with all the other cards in the deck.

Ajani's Pridemate serves as a steadily-growing threat, and Tragic Slip serves as cheap but very effective removal, since it's Morbid trigger will almost always be active.

Lurrus of the Dream-Den is an easy and obvious fit as a Companion, with a restriction that is easy to build around and a very handy ability to allow you to bring back the creatures you've been wanting to let die.

(If Karlov of the Ghost Council ever becomes Modern-legal, definitely replace Ajani's Pridemate with it)
