Thanks for the compliments and +1's guys!

_Budgetlover -- Fiery Temper isn't a bad choice, but it's not ideal here IMO because the only time you would be able to cast it for its madness cost is when Burning Inquiry is played, which is frequently a game ender. Especially considering that you want open for Burning Inquiry + Reverberate, it's unlikely that you would have the fourth available for madness, or even if it would be relevant at that point.

Sergal -- Thanks man! I had considered Kolaghan's Command, but yeah, even without cost factored in, Blightning is stronger here given how the deck functions.

you should really run Ensnaring Bridge.

you should really run Dismember, too, since the ability indestructible exists.

Ensnaring Bridge and Dismember would both be reasonable additions to the deck. The fact that this deck is built very tightly around the core cards makes additions difficult at this point though. It wasn't even easy fitting the two Liliana of the Veil in, and they are an ideal fit in terms of both functionality and flavor. Swapping the two Flame Slash for two Dismember would be a reasonable choice. I'm not sure what I would take out for Ensnaring Bridge though, and that card is also not cheap. I'll have to think about those. Thanks for the input!

I think Collective Defiance could give you some good value. For 3 mana you can wheel their hand, for 1 more you can do 3 damage to them, and for 1 more (if you need to) you can take out just about any early game creature.

why not add a classic Mind Rot or Assassin's Strike?

Nosoup4ne1 -- I'm currently testing out three Collective Defiance in place of two Blightning and one Diabolic Tutor at the moment. Depending on how it performs, I may make it a permanent addition to the mainboard. Otherwise, I'll probably sideboard it.

ticked-off-squirrel -- I actually had Mind Rot in the mainboard initially, but Blightning was objectively better and it did not work out well in lategame running four Blightning and two Mind Rot, so the Mind Rots were swapped for more spot removal.

And Assassin's Strike unfortunately just has too high of a mana cost to be effectively used in a Modern deck, IMO. I appreciate the suggestions though.

Hey nice deck. Here's some suggestions as I run similar decks.

  1. Runeflare trap 2. Tibalt ( finally has a decent use lol) 3. Reforge the soul 4. Bump in the night
  2. Harness the storm 6. Pain magnification 7. Pyromancers swath 8. Bloodchief ascension 9. Mindcrank

My personal favourite is the blood crank combo lol. Cheers!
