in khans of tarkir there is Despise that takes out creatures and walkers.

Raven's Crime is the best in this kind of deck. It's durability is fantastic. discarding extra lands, long game playability etc.

Maybe up Lily to 4 if you can afford them? She's one of the best walkers in terms of utility. Not a game winner like Karn or Bolas, but more a Swiss army knife, ironically like her rival Garruk Wildspeaker.

If I she were cheaper, sadly I cant afford any. The 2 I got were when she was $20 SP @starcity. Years ago.

I wish I had played back when she was only $20. :( Out of curiosity, what drew you to 8-Rack over Liliana's Caress + Megrim ? I am having a hard time deciding which of the pair I would prefer to play around, and some insight into your choice would be greatly appreciated.

When I played it casually only I used Liliana's Caress, The Rack, and Anvil of Bogardan. It was fun but 8Rack just kills faster IMO.

The problem is Skullion123, that caress can be a dead draw once they are in top deck mode. Too risky. I used to run it casually. And the cage is just plain too slow for modern without ramp.

I can second that. Too much discard leads to dead draws, and mana curve is always important. Too many cooks, if you know what I mean.

for this kind of deck I think obliterator is too pricey, maybe run bobs instead, help you attrition out your opponent, a blocker, an attacker, and an over all must kill for you opponent, also more lilianas, its the absolute best card in the deck. all those are really expensive though so if you want more budget stuff look and waste not or phyrexian arena, or even necrogen mists for a budget lilly

Elle_Ess_Dee, I run the obliterators as a personal touch. I like some creatures in my 8rack and I think Pack Rats are probably better but I play more casual than anything so Obliterators it is lol. And I don't have the funds for more Lilis or I'd have 4.

8-rack generally suffers from inconsistency. You could try Infernal Tutor to help you grab what you need as Hellbent is easily achieved in a deck like this.

i kinda have to disagree with you saying its inconsistent 8 rack is one of the more consistent decks I've ever played

It's also gaining popularity lately. Modern is a pretty diverse meta.

Aspatagous, in my experience at least, until I put in tutors I was having more consistency issues. It's a combo deck which inherently brings those issues like having too many discards or not enough, no Liliana when I'd like to lock my opponent down, no bridge when I really need it, sometimes racks are no where to be found, etc. Now, a lot of times it works great, but the more times I can get my lock in place sooner, the better.
Here's my list. It runs smoother with Infernal Tutor in the main deck.
Permanent Midnight Playtest
Modern

Burning Inquiry makes Liliana's Caress Less dead-droppy.. If you wanted..
Also, if you ever decide to drop the Obliterators, you could add Ensnaring Bridge
drop some of the burn and add Defense Grid if you want to go all out h8

If you wanted even more 1 cmc discard, you can try Duress. There are more options, but most of them are subpar in my opinion. You could also perhaps get away with running creatures that benefit from being in your grave.
