I agree with Blood Artist being a win more. My dedicated token/sacrifice Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest deck has never gotten it to go off in 30 matches. It's not worth the include imo unless you can get a reliable infinite combo engine going. It being a 0/1 is also a big deterrent.

I have 6 zombie creatures, and 2 cards that make zombies. So the Lord effect isn't useless. My only concern is it ups my curve and blood artist works well with Strands of Night combo.

God I wish I could upvote twice so I can be the one to get you to 200. ;-;

Also, landmark of sorts. I beat my rival. I finally found out how to deal with his 12 counter spells and 20+ wraths. I dictated the process quickly in "Matchups/Mulligans" section.

Strands of Night won the game with both Liliana emblems and a Gray Merchant of Asphodel

This deck is badass +1! I just finished creating my first ever monoblack deck would you mind reviewing it? Here's the link Don't Touch Anything! (Horobi EDH).

Falconer26 This is what I'm working with. I have this strong urge to go more artifact heavy, but this might be a bad idea given the low artifact synergy.

I lowered the curve and uped the speed with acquiring a Mana Crypt, and this may be part of the reason for the artifact lust. To further this, I've considered adding the following; Mox Opal, Chrome Mox, Mana Vault and Mox Diamond.

Due to this, I want to test out Filigree Familiar because it's a bad Solemn Simulacrum, which is stupid good. it also answers a minor card draw issue, ive been noticing. If I do go more artifacts, i'm tempted to readd Beacon of Unrest.

I've also added Vengeful Pharaoh to the test list, because it's beautiful discard fuel.

I have no idea what happened to the bloodghast. It's still the deck. I'll check tomorrow.

Otherwise, got some foils.

Going to test out Scarecrone and Arcbound Ravager.

If you've got strong enough lifegain in the deck, you may check out Aetherflux Reservoir as an alt win-con.

I'm not sure where you competitive nature lies, but with as many creatures you are running Contamination seem's like a solid choice. Combined with Bitterblossom, you are locking out any player who doesn't play black pretty much indefinitely. A less competitive card that would appear to have synergy with your strategy would be Life's Finale. You get Entomb for target opponent combined with Damnation? Value. Just pure value. Lastly, to deal with pesky control players, Dark Deal seems to do wanders, plus it feeds madness triggers and all graveyards with more creatures. I have experienced turn one Wheel of Fortune and it definitely messes with the best laid out plans.

Homura_Akemi: Liliana, the Last Hope isn't great in EDH. Her +1 is laughable. Her -2 is alright. Although it doesn't dig deep, and Disentomb isn't great in edh. Her ultimate is awesome, but being realistic, it probably won't get off the ground. Four turns is a lot of time on edh. Over all she's good in a deck dedicated to plansewalkers to get ger loyalty up faster, or where Sun Titan can recur her. In any event, thank you.

AKBZ: I've considered Contamination in the past, but I've actually had issues maintaining it. Plus it really ruins the night. If I was looking for an oppressive card to win me the game, id go with Nether Void (Which is a card i'm considering for the sideboard). It'd be nice for events, but we don't have those often anymore. Life's Finale is expensive. It's a creatures only wrath, that costs more than my next most expensive wrath. Tacking on a Buried Alive for my opponents isn't worth it. Dark Deal is weird. It doesn't deal with control as well as I would hope. If they want to control, they'll just counter it. And even if they don't, everyone still draws cards. I don't run enough Madness for that to be a strong argument. If anything, I'd run it to enable reanimator strategies. Still, there are better cards for that. Just not worth a spot, for what I'm doing. Thank you though.

@NecroPony: +1. I love this deck! Black is my favorite color in the game so I always like seeing a powerful mono-black deck. I wanted to ask you about something you said in the description. You mentioned being able to sac Dust Bowl in response to removal to save Cabal Coffers from exile, my question is, why is Dust Bowl better than Strip Mine? The only difference is that Dust Bowl is more limited in what it can target and costs mana to activate. So could you elaborate a little more about why you prefer Dust Bowl?

chirz2792 if anyone tries to exile my lands, I can sac them in response to fuel Dust Bowl. This saves the land from exile. Also dust bowl is better if I don't have access to my Crucible of Worlds. It's more reusable.

@NecroPony: Now I see it. I never actually noticed Dust Bowl sacrificed another land before. I always assumed it had to sacrifice itself. That seems a lot better now.

It can sacrifice itself, but it doesn't have to.

i have tried the deck that u are running but i couldn't get anything near 1 win in my 8 different matches. played multiplayer against pretty rogue decks at a certain place. no doubt i think liliana is one of the strongest planeswalkers in magic the gathering. for myself testing your deck i fealt like hmm what can i do here but all the answers constantly gave me to a certain place and that place was wipe the field every next turn.

Probebly i played the deck terrible wrong at some points like sometimes i forgot my zombie from liliana but most of the times i felt like liliana was always the treath in the game. i could do nice plays but there was always a control deck that kinda kept me from summoning her flip effect - planeswalker. every duel i summoned her 6 times but i think that was a bit to much to cast a planeswalker - funny when u have that tower beacon on hand.

also while i was playing at a certain point i was constantly fetching lands. and this is something i pretty much enjoyed about the deck surprisingly i never thought so much ramp was possible in black alone. i am not toalking about the lands that u need to pay 1 life to get a card. i m morly meaning the artifacts that give land on your field and the land that lets you put cards back on top of the deck. those cards kinda intrest me the most to try out something else out.

about what i would suggest of the deck. i wasn't totaly a fan of the card Voldaren Pariah  Flip and would change it for a Sheoldred, Whispering One i didn't gain anything from the bitter blossom poorly enough to make her effect worthy.

Also thanks to you i got to relize how hard it is to make some decks work. i was literaly spitting all the combo's that i could find in the deck that you build. but poorly i couldn't manage to get a win of them but now i am trying to create something simular to your deck but with another commander. Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh. this is a red comander with almost the same mana search ability as yours deck and also with the possible control that your deck has. poorly i can't make it directly fit for testing becous i don't have much of the cards yet. but i must thank you for giving me inspiration on my new edh i want to build.

It's time. I've officially retired this deck. It got to be too expensive to maintain, Have to sell some key cards in preparation for Christmas. The remaining pieces will go to build up my Godo and Ink-Eyes decks. It's been a great run guys. Knowing me, I'll probably rebuild the deck within a years time, but for now, updating will stop.

Thank you all for the support over the last 2 years.
