Drop the gate creepers. You have 23 land and 4 mystics. Should work fine. Creeper would tie u up for 2 land to get a gate that enters tapped. Why alive? If for the centaur toss the alive 4 drop for more conclave 3 drops. More unflinching. Drop wake add rootborn.

I am currently doing a Selesnya build with one of my decks and I would say to put in some Experiment One s in for the Gatecreeper Vine s. Those mystics will ramp you up quick and the experiment ones will grow to a decent size quick once you drop a loxodon smiter plus then you get some resilience! Your land should be fine without the vines.

Once you are able, another scavenging ooze or two would be good replacements for the tusker.

Nice work on this deck overall, looks like it could be solid and you already got them 4 voice's in there so it should be fun!

Thanks Drexos and Dartan for the advice. I am waiting to get ahold of two more Call of the Conclave in order to replace the Alive .

You guys have both swayed me on the Gatecreeper Vine s. I will be taking them out right away.

I have acquired one more Scavenging Ooze and one Armada Wurm . I still want to put in another Armada Wurm along with a Garruk, Caller of Beasts .

Would two shocklands be good for this deck?

Very much so! I just got 4 Temple Garden for my deck today. I have played my deck on a few FNM and done really well (getting into finals and then some)) but the one thing that hurt was when I didnt have a green mana to activate Scavenging Ooze ability or that one white mana needed early on to cast out a Loxodon Smiter . You dont want to miss out on a key drop.
You want to be laying cards down and activating the Scavenging Ooze at every opportunity. His ability is even good against decks that play in graveyards so use it to take out flashback cards and any other cards that can come back from the graveyard. You wont get the counter or life but it will be worth it.

Here is a link to my Selesnya deck that looks sort of like yours: Selesnya Somethings

It is not perfect but I use what I have to work with. Go ahead and take a look to see what you think about it and then we can bounce some ideas around to improve eachother's decks!

@ dartan I agree on the shock lands. This deck needs it for the risk of being mono colored and not being able to drop. If your concerned about the 2 life cost toss in 2 or 3 centaur healers. Same as conclave except u get 3 life (well ones a token and 1 is not).

I performed a major overhaul on this deck tonight in preparation for the open Star City tournament in Cincy this weekend. Right now I am thinking that removal is my major weakness, so maybe Banisher Priest or Pacifism should be added. That or just main deck my other two Oblivion Ring

I'd say pacifism for the cost unless u need creatures then priest

I would put in another Selesnya Charm for removal if you need it. It is wicked against any big creatures and if they are pumping up a smaller creature, then as soon as it hits 5 power, it is gone! Plus the first ability is great if they pull some fancy stuff during the attack phase after attackers and blockers have been declared.

Aside from that, I think I would choose Pacifism over Banisher Priest . Banisher priest is nice but it could turn into a liability if you take out a guy they want. Seems like it is much easier to kill a creature than destroy an enchantment, since I have observed not too many people run enchantment removal right now and if anything, may have some in their sideboard to put in on game 2 or 3.

Bought a couple packs last night and cracked Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and Scavenging Ooze . Adding those two cards into the deck. It's time to start pulling the cards out that are going to cycle out of standard this month.

Just so you know you cant stop flashback with ooze since flashback exiles first then mana is payed and if its their turn they have priorty it worked against snapcaster when you exiled the target

I wouldn't run Advent of the Wurm without populate.

I thought the same way when I first started playing this deck in its token form before Theros.

a 5/5 Trample for 4 mana at instant speed by itself is an incredible value. It doesn't need any help at all. Populating a token would be devastating, but you run the risk of getting two-for-oned when you try to populate it. And what if you draw into populate cards and have no advents in hand? It's a dead draw. With advent in the deck by itself, it is never a dead draw because a 5/5 trample for 4 is good in all three board states.

You're right. For some reason I neglected the fact it's an instant.
