Breya wins with KCI/Ashnod's Alter + Nim Deathmantle. Also only 4 Cmc (although more color-intensive). Also gives us red, which means Goblin Welder, Gamble, izzet walkers (eh), Bomberman combo w/pyrite Spellbomb, maybe vandalblast, and some mana rocks and rituals.

Better than Sharuum? We shall see. Will I play her? Hell yeah. My Lady will have to wait a while whilst I tinker with Breya.

Tymna isn't even life loss, it's combat damage. She has Boros written all over her but for some reason she isn't.

So I hate partner but the W/B and U/G pair exceedingly well.

Why do you guys hate partner? I fill like it's a fun take on making a 4 color deck possible.

I hate it because it's lazy. Instead of making true 4c legends they said "fuck it, this is too hard, lets just make 2c ones they can mix and match!" instead of putting actual effort into designing more 4c legends

Partner feels like a shortcut to me as well. I was hoping for 2 four color commanders each. One that is all 4 via Mana cost and another that was 2 color with an off-colour triggered/activated ability.

@ Watason723

The Partner mechanic is an innovative way for WotC to get around the tough design space that comes with 4 colour cards, and by giving us the ability to mix and match they've opened up a lot of options for building new decks so I can honestly thank them for that. I've read Wizard's articles on the topic and I get that they had a hard time with the design process for 4 colour legendary creatures. If they had more time to create the product then maybe they could have some up with more, but time is a limiter to the creative process.

My complaint against the Partner mechanic is that I think it flies in the face of the flavour of the format, but I had the same reaction when they made commanders that had effects in the command zone. I still run a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck regardless, so I know that I'll get over it once I sit down and start brewing.

Here is my attempt at Breya. Mana base could use some fine-Tuning, but I think the shell of the deck is there. What are your thoughts?Breya

I think a good way to take Boros commanders shouldn't be the stupid aggro nonsense they keep pushing, but hate/stax. Leovold could have been Boros with a couple tweaks, and punishing greed from the command zone feels far more powerful and flavorful than the jank they keep printing. In an alternate reality where I designed cards for Wizards, a Natural Balance stapled to Spirit of the Labyrinth would be the first legendary creature I would try to get printed.

Well, we didn't get card draw or stax but at least now we have Cranial Plating on a stick...

Curb your sarcasm; I have never seen Isamaru, Hound of Konda lose in commander.

This isn't a duel Commander list. The Hound scales horribly to multiplayer.

I actually really like this new boros commander. I love that I can also add two additional colors to get all the card advantage and tutors needed to smash the table early and often. I'm thinking rope lady and silas renn could form a devastating 1-2 punch.

You're not playing against the right deck then. Isamaru is practically untouchable in my friend's deck.

Post a deck list so we can evaluate your argument about your friends dog

Sure, I'll just get right on that.

Ohthenoises says... #21

That's not the point, the point is that you have do deal 63 damage to 3 people with that one dude. In the time it takes you to do that the T1 decks will have all comboed off.

In multiplayer voltron is typically bad because it isn't very interactive and has very little in the "I win against 3 players in 1 turn through interaction"

The only real one is lifelink with Felidar Sovereign and that can be seen and answered a mile off and even then it's still slow as death.

It probably won't but do you think deepglow skate (double counters on permanents on etb) will make the cut for Ezuri, Claw of Progress?
