n0bunga I've seen The Dog take on three other decks. The only thing it cares about is white and sometime not even that.

Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis

So uh... this is a card. At least group hug got two dudes with a big butt I guess.

I am also interested in how a Voltron commander beats 3 T1 decks that can combo off on turn 3-5. If there is some secret tech I must know!

Thus far the only commanders that haven't been disappointments to me are Atraxa and Breya. Neither are superb, but they're playable, probably both Tier 2. I sincerely hope Sans White makes up for the rest of the set.

The Simic commander is really powerful, but yeah a lot of the generals spoiled so far are underwhelming.

i agree tier two seems about right...still way too early to tell but yeah tier two still seems right...simic i still feel is getting overhyped and is at least tier three

All these "meh underwhelming" posts are so lame. Partner is fun and allows for lots of combinations -- the most fun is in tier 2-3 anyways, tier 1 is boring AF. We have an absurd amount of new possibilities period, let alone coming from one set. Plus 4c commanders. In short, just relax, don't complain. Jeeeez

The new simic commander will see play in the 99 of Momir Vig, Rashmi, and any other relevant Simic commander but will not be in the commander spot. At least not without a partner.

I feel like the Simic one paired with the weaver B/W seems strong. Go to combat, hit 3 players, draw 3 cards and then the U/G one taps for 4.

They even curve into each other fairly nicely.

I wish ludevic said "at each player's end step if a player other than you took damage this turn YOU draw a card"

That what what I read at first and was like "wow that's pretty good!" But after re-reading it I got sad.

It's just not who I pictured the character to be. For one thing, I thought he was Grixis, and maybe taller with a labcoat.

HarroHunter, I'm cautiously optimistic about trying Deepglow in my Ezuri deck, but I'm not to certain about it since that deck typically doesn't have it's counters spread out over enough permanents to be that effective. Also, you can't double counters on players, so no messing with your exp. I ultimately I don't think it's going to be on curve enough for any competitive version of the deck.

Shane.Allen, If your going to submit your deck as the "best ever" Leovold deck, you should really look into what Leovold does well. Ramping up to Tooth and Nail and trying to set up Mike&Trike and Deadeye combos are all super slow for a deck that plays well with Doomsday and Hermit Druid.

n0bunga It usually can't be blocked and comes in swinging on turn two. The rest is pillow fort support.

October 26, 2016 9:18 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #21

Pillowfort does almost nothing to most of the T1 decks though. Most of the T1 decks that are going to hit you with creatures are green and have so much artifact/enchantment hate it's silly.

Again, you have to deal 63 damage with the hound. That's quite a feat to accomplish before someone makes infinite mana and just uses that mana to attack through your pillowfort.

It really is starting to sound like the playgroup that your friend is in isn't playing combo at all.

I dont want to sound mean...but that is exactly the point his meta is most likely not competitive or he is confusing spikyness and competitive....to remind you this is a tier list with competitive commander in mind

sonnet666 If you really know anything about tier 1 decks then you would know that Zur is the best deck for doomsday, and maybe you would also think about decks with more then one wincon but I guess you much better just troll people from your moms basement. If you have nothing positive to say maybe you should be quite.
