havent started taigam. I'm convinced ramos can work as a nooze deck. Talgam's next in my brew list. I'm thinking tier 2 cause of sheer storm power with backup from enchantment based counters. Though as it is now, it might just be HT storm ill post an outline of how my ramos deck came out in when i'm finished rebalancing mana:cantrips:rocks so we can at least have a base line. I hear Lilbrudder's making a deck and flash hulk is a decent shell to try.

In regards to Ramos, Dragon Engine: Transguild Courier is now a spicy ritual and probably worth trying.

I'm going to brew up a nice storm list for ramos I think he'll be tier 1.5 or 2 but maybe even tier 1.

I what I think is a decent Sydri storm list here. Could probably use another look haven't touched it in a couple months but something to look at.

The problem of Faith of the Devoted is that it is only good for the combo. Having to dredge through your deck for everything only takes a long time physically, but it is more efficient in terms of card slots. For a less powerful version of Gitrog, it may work to allow non-competitive players who do not have the same patience to tolerate the deck. I personally prefer to use Geth's Verdict for a quicker/more intuitive kill when working outside of cEDH, since the Rath's Edge kill is annoying to explain to those not experienced with competitive bullshit.

The only reason Geth's Verdict is at all considered it that it is one of the cheapest instant speed ways to win of a Gitrog endstep kill (though I have been considering Ebony Charm). One of the most powerful things Gitrog can do is combo off using the endstep, where it would be impossible to flash in Faith of the Devoted. That's the beauty of the Rath's Edge/Geth's Verdict kill-cons: they work at instant speed (without being on the table already).

When comboing at sorcery speed, I would easily agree that the enchantment is stronger. Once it resolves, you do not need to expose your kill-con to the stack. However, unlike Rath's Edge and Geth's Verdict, Faith of the Devoted does literally nothing to advance your gameplan/mess with opponents. Rath's Edge can kill annoying creature, hit planeswalkers, and draw cards. Geth's Verdict can kill manadorks in the early game and pressure commander-centric decks to produce an extra creature. Faith of the Devoted only drains (and only if you have a discard outlet out), so while it is somewhat relevant for Necro and AdNaus, you do not want to spend mana and cards to simply drain some life (and it only does the new drain, which is terrible. My playgroup named it 'slurping' :P ).

I do not know enough about how well the Gitrog combo works online. In paper, I need 20 minutes tops, usually about 10-15, to draw my deck. The only thing I am scared of is milling both Kozilek AND Gaea's Blessing at the same time. Otherwise, my opponents need to have 3 ways to interact with my graveyard.

I only ever really go through my library once, by stacking about 90 draw triggers before letting any resolve. This way I am guaranteed to find what I want.

HezTheGod: When you have a working prototype can you send it my way?

HezTheGod: Jund Charm is another really good ritual in Ramos. Five counters, plus provides graveyard hate and acts as a dork sweeper.

lol HarroHunter, i wasnt asking for a list (besides i was the very first comment on it, i follow some of your decks already XD). i was just wondering if anyone found out which version of sydri was actually better.

So... how about Bontu's Last Recokning?

June 1, 2017 9:56 p.m.

Id give a nope on all 3 of the spoilers so far. Samut comes the closest so far.... 13 cuts and I can post my ramos prototype. Then I can move to taigam HT

dont get me wrong samut and bontu's reckoning are dec. nicol bolas was underwhelming IMO. Bontu's reckoning is basically overload 3 (hearthstone) unless you can untap them.

I would sooner run Damnation than Reckoning.

June 2, 2017 12:08 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #14

It's actually worse than overload. You can't do a followup and only have to keep 3 tapped. It makes you skip untapping ALL of your lands so if you tapped any for any other reasons you lose that untap too.

June 2, 2017 12:33 a.m.

Rev up those dragons

Nooze based prototype for ramos. Hd abilities stressed to make the commander relevant and both strategies interwoven with thr commander.

Taigam awaits

I believe overload from hs is as close of a mechanic as were going to get.

I think Yahenni is really under-estimated on this list. After about 30 games (about 10 of those were 1v1) with it I can say it is realistically the best mono-black commander. Every single game I have kept my opponents from keeping any creatures on the field, and I have won against artifact decks with Gate to Phyrexia. There are also insane combos in the deck and because Yahenni is a free sac outlet spot removal is pretty much useless.

Would you mind providing your list for discussion?

why is Baral, Chief of Compliance half a tier higher than Talrand, Sky Summoner? both do pretty much the same thing in the long haul, both are basically built as "mr. counterspell" although baral get a chance to loot (still not gaining card advantage in hand) and talrand gets board advantage with drakes. Am i missing something that puts baral in a higher tier, besides his 2 cmc vs talrands 4?

Bumpinator says... #19

This is my list, and I don't think it's too competitive, however it wins a LOT in my playgroup.

2cc vs 4cc is a HUGE difference for cEDH. Its the difference between being casted often and almost never being castable. Baral also offers a very powerful ability that allows you a discount on all your spells and free card card selection. Since winning via combat damage is a terrible strategy I am shocked that Talrand is Just a half a tier lower. Baral is only slightly worse than JVP who is a strong canidate for the strongest creature in cEDH.

I would like to submit my Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons deck if nobody else has a better one to represent it (link: Toxic Relationship: Hapatra EDH).

While it's a representation of the physical cards I possess (and thus not completely 100% optimized - no Bayou or Mana Crypt, notably), it plays all of the relevant combos including a Protean Hulk package, and frequently establishes a strong stax lock by T4 or earlier.

June 2, 2017 4:20 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #22

I'd suggest rebuilding the deck to include cards you don't own to optimize, it takes like 20 seconds to do a copy and then edit.

Is there a duel commander list?

June 2, 2017 6 p.m.

Athraithe says... #24

I have attempted a Taigam, Ojutai Master build revolving around storm and aetherflux res. Link is as follows, though im sure it needs work. Not sure what tier to nominate it for yet either, hoping the cEDH community can build off of what i did to further optimize it.

June 2, 2017 8:19 p.m.

Im just gonna leave my usual dump of templates for others to build off of. Basically nominations unless someone has found better:

taigam: The tides crash twice

Ramos: Rev up those dragons

kefnet: oh well everybody's heard

hapatra: Counter stacks

krenko: Krenk that 3 times

hazezon: sands of time

samut v1: Zero Suit Samut

samut v2: Samut Ad Nauseum

taigam- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-tides-crash-twice/
ramos- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rev-up-those-dragons/
kefnet- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/oh-well-everybodys-heard-1/
hapatra- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/counter-stacks-1/
krenko- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/krenk-that-3-times/
hazezon- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/28-03-17-sands-of-time/
samut v1- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/zero-suit-samut/
samut v2- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/samut-ad-nauseum/

That is all.
