WE NOW HAVE AN FAQ
- Fixed broken links.
I'm trying to make the following changes, but I'm getting ornithopers whenever try to make an edit that adds a decklist. Not sure what's causing that.
Trying to add illumfolly's Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker list, Shirei is Love, Shirei is Life.
Trying to add chaosumbreon87's Krenko, Mob Boss list, Krenk that 3 times.
Trying to swap enpc's Saffi Eriksdotter list for his more competitive version, Just Stay Dead: cEDH Edition, and add primer as a second link (Just Stay Dead).
For now I'm just going to pretend like this isn't happening and carry on down here.
ajacobik, Ok, I checked out the Erebos list here you said you were talking out (T/O link here: [Primer] [Competitive] Erebos, God of Mana), and for fuck sake, that list is not optimized at all. The curve is WAY too high, there's not nearly enough ramp, and it's using bloated and unnecessary win conditions. I can see Erebos moving up to T3, but you got to provide a better example of a cEDH decklist, because that is not it.
HarroHunter, You're welcome.
I think Paradox Engine is probably the way to go with Samut, like the deck chaosumbreon87 posted here: Samut Ad Nauseum.
On another note, would you like to make the example list for Savra that I was talking about? I can make it based on your Hapetra list if you don't want to, but I thought I should give you first chance on making the list.
Lilbrudder, Now that you've updated your Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck to include Protean Hulk and have a primer, do you still think Voidia's list should be the one in the description? Your's seems like the better deck to me at this point, and I can put it back if you want.
I'm also going to put your Thrasios / Vial Smasher list up on List of Partner Pairs by Tier.
Paradox Scepter Storm: cEDH Primer is the more advanced version than Yawgmoth's Engine, correct?
The Ixlan spoilers keep coming:
- Gishark, Sun's Avatar is hugely overcosted Naya dinosaur tribal. T5. (If that actually is a 3 in it's mana cost it might be better.)
- Admiral Beckett Brass, Grixis pirate tribal. The stealing effect could actually be pretty neat control if satisfying the 3 pirate requirement isn't too much trouble. I'll reserve judgement.
- Kopala, Warden of Waves, Blue merfolk tribal. A mild tax that only effects your opponents' removal isn't really that great. T4.
- Mynea Frian, Dark Apostle... Mono-White vampires. That's cool I guess. Unfortunately it takes the tribe 100% out of it's preexisting card pool. T5.
Some other things I think are useful:
- Sorcerous Spyglass, new Pithing Needle crossed with GitProbe.
- Arcane Adaptation, Blue Conspiracy in blue, could push decks going for creature-type based combos.
- Tocaf's Honor Guard, Yet another Torpor Orb.
- Evaporating Melody a second Dominate for Mizzix.
- Revel in Riches, The alternate win con isn't likely to be relevant in cEDH, but turning all your opponents' dead creatures into Lotus Petals is pretty good at 2 mana.
- Shaper's Sanctuary Creature based green decks might like this to recoup cards. The fact that it includes abilities makes much more likely to draw for you than Karmic Justice. Also plays really well with Spellskite.
- Deadeye Tracker, This one's kind of interesting. Cheap gravehate that filters lands and can fill your yard. Reminds me of Deathrite Shaman a little. Might be worth it in Karador or something.
- Sunbird's Invocation, I'm not sure if this is 5R or 3R. If it's 5 it's trash, but at 4 cmc it might make it into some storm lists.
All in all I'm picking up a really strong tribal vibe from these leaks. Commander 2017 is also going to be tribal, so we might get some nice synergies between the 2 sets.

n0bunga - Hostage Taker is . Also, I did NOT think about Altar of the Brood. I only looked at the "Cool, a 4-mana Mana Crypt."

Ohthenoises or if you're in grixis colors Impact Tremors or Purphoros, God of the Forge. Also might make Vela the Night-Clad interesting
sonnet666 Sure I'll look into putting together a Savra list tonight.

ill try to help the samut list whenever I get editing access. Ooh spoilers... kinda seem rushed
That simic commander appears to be 2GU so we might see new/better zegana (I gotta try panharmonicon but eeh)
now I gotta test if elfball+food chain is decent.

sonnet666: I mean I am a big fan of the list I made with LabManiac_Sigi, but if it is an improvement over the list that is currently featured it is conceptual only (it has yet to do anything of note and each list has strengths and weaknesses). Voidia just piloted his list to 5th overall in a large cEDH tourney and he definitely knows SBT as well as anyone. If I (or someone else) enters a tourney with my current list and I/they do well then perhaps I will insist on having my deck featured. Until then Voidia's list is a great example of SBT and our differences are primarily meta calls and playstyle preference.
Also you are correct that my paradox scepter storm list is the better of my two lists. I am close to updating the primer.

Spoiler from Hour of Devastation:
New cylcing land - It's a back-up Slippery Karst. The cycle is only so far (and the Desert support is only in Red and Green), but if there is a black one...
The Scorpion God - Tier 3 - Besides the metal name, it draws cards, is unkillable, and is a 4-turn clock. It can even pick off creatures. It's like Mogis, but not slow.

merrowMania, you're thinking too small.
If you have infinite mana he can put counters on himself, die drawing you a card, and come back and do it again. You'd draw your whole library.
Best infinite mana combos in Rakdos anyone?

sonnet666 - He can't put counters on himself nor does he return to your hand immediately. He does go infinite with Reassembling Skeleton, Tenacious Dead, and Relentless Dead.

You're right. I read it twice and missed "another" each time.
I was also a little drunk...

Turns out the pirate is also an infinite combo in standard too. Pirate + Panharmonicon + Puzzleknots. The red one is infinite damage, the green one is infinite life, etc.

I said "in standard too"
There's no effects that can win the game with just creature etbs there like Altar.
However panharp allows you to infinitely use puzzleknots in standard by targeting himself and the knot

I'm having trouble seeing the infinite combo. Could someone show me how it works?
June 17, 2017 10:23 a.m.
Actually you're not really stacking any triggers here, since Hostage Taker is worded like Banisher Priest and not Fiend Hunter.
Simply put, you target Hostage Taker with his own ETB ability, then when that resolves Hostage Taker gets exiled, then immediately comes back because the duration of the exile effect has already ended (Hostage Taker left the battlefield). When he comes back his ETB triggers again, and you can just repeat for infinite ETB and LTB triggers of something else (like Altar of the Brood or Vela).
This seems like a huge oversight on Wizards' part since Hostage Taker is practically a 1 card combo. (Usually cards with this effect say "another target creature" or "target creature an opponent controls" the way Banisher Priest does.)

We can't edit out our comments at this point, but lets put a lid on the discussion of Hostage Taker and any other non Hour of Devastation cards for now.
I would really hate for yeaGO to delete all our work here.

Aah, that makes sense. Thought it involved blinking the puzzleknot twice XD. Thanks n0bunga and sonnet666.

Can we get thegigibeast to remove the comments? As the owner, he should be able to do so.
June 17, 2017 12:52 p.m.
There's no remove button for me, so it might be something only Gigi can do. (On the other hand there's never been a remove button on my other decks, so it might be something you only get while upgraded.)
I'll try to archive.
Your account's probably been suspended like this guy. If you send a message here with your account name saying you know not to post anymore leaks they should probably unsuspend you.

Garta I must have been looking at the wrong list since the link was broken and I only found a PP one when I checked your profile. My mistake.
