However, I'm not sure the best direction for Ezuri is aggro btw. He's not Edric after all. I feel like the deck would be better served to just be dorks, counters, removal, tutors, flash, hulk, Sage of hours, labman, and Hoof.

Ohthenoises my man, you are spot on. I have been playing Claw of progress since day one. He really has no use for Aggro, especially since he is part of a two card combo that wins. Hulk unbanning was the best thing for him. If you have any ideas on how to improve the deck I posted for him please feel free to let me know what you think works best for him. I'm currently trying to build him better, stronger, faster. lol

Aggro should be his last resort and only really if he is loosing. I think stax, control and combo are what he needs personally. I think the only reason I went high on the creature count is synergy with the commander. If I can play a Cursecatcher or a Spiketail Hatchling that give me EXP counters and a counter spell I think that is slightly better for him then just a straight counterspell.

Well, for example, things like Champion of Lambholt seem like they aren't useful outside of an aggro situation. If your goal is to get flash hulk another tutor would be better there.

(without looking at your deck again Merchant Scroll? I can't remember if I saw it or not.)

You also have a lot of Animar creatures in there that I'm not sure are needed or wanted. Man-o'-War, Cloud of Faeries, etc that might be just better as ramp or tutors.

I guess what I'm saying is that IMO you should cut back on the "free" creatures and just play more dorks, counters, and tutors.

Thank you for that Ohthenoises. Yeah, I have been still trying to make cuts and see what advice I can get to optimize this further. I stand by my "I can always use more feedback" It has been surprisingly hard to get people to look at the deck and give me advice outside of "You need more Aggro Bruh" so far.

Okay so there's a guy on the EDH Facebook group claiming he pubstomps tier 1 decks, with his casual deck... I have given trying to argue that to be impossible.

For everyone's viewing pleasure http://www.mtgvault.com/astralninja/decks/dralnu-slayer-of-leovold/

The reason I posted that, is by his claims he's beaten MANY tier 1 decks. If that's the case then maybe his list might should get some discussion here.

I have his list a quick look. It's zombie tribal Dralnu.

I only did a quick scan of the list and I can already say that the list is not optimized. Regardless of strategy, there are suboptimal cards in the list.

The discussion, if any, would have to be about Dralnu, Lich Lord and not factoring that decklist at all. We have plenty of users here that could easily create a better list than that for discussion on Dralnu placement.

We already mentioned the dralnu doomtide list, it is tier 2 power level for sure with the people i have chatted with in pm, like n0bunga, it just needs moved. It plays every spell in the deck twice consistently.

Thank you for afirming what I already told him. He insisted that it was a frequent stomper of an Ad Naus Zur deck, which doesn't make any sense to me and hasn't made any sense. Nonetheless, I thought that I might be possibly missing something. Thank you.

Does anyone here have a kraj list for t3, he definitely seems t3 I just want some help building an intentionally slightly less optimized version.

Random thought popped up. We havent been able to decide what Taigam should be built as, but has anyone tried building a stax deck with him? I know it semi defeats the purpose of his uncounterable ability, but maybe we just use the ability for counters and grave recursion instants/sorceries? hes the only creature we need to have untap anyways, and im sure with all the fast mana we can generate, Back to Basics could be a stellar card, especially when paired with land tax (and there is no shortage of enchantment tutors in white). In addition, there arent many dragons worth including anyways except maybe ojutai the anticipate dragon, so i dont believe we even need to worry there. Just a couple thoughts from late at night lol

Diabolic tutor= Pubstomping tier 1 decks confirmed.

Basically anyone running Grave Titan issnt pub stomping anything above tier 3.

July 26, 2017 10:59 a.m.

Why would you run gt in dralnu. I thought he was just a value engine for tutors and draw. Also, I retract my statement if moving sliver overlord up. I couldnt get the deck quite consistent enough.

Why are Yisan and Selvala Tier 1.5 rather than tier 1? I thought Yisan was considered one of the best commanders out there, with his ability to easily tutor chain into a game winning combo; along with his synergy with stax strategies. And Selvala is a super fast combo deck; that can usually fight through counters, and stax or just win before they get their locks online. I guess because they are only in green they don't have enough versatility?

Ohthenoises says... #16

You answered your own question. Mono green does have a few shortcomings. Yisan suffers from it a little less than Selvala but most of our combo pieces are creatures that can be killed or countered. Selvala suffers more because she can't get around the countered part as well.

Hey I've been toying around with an idea and I'd like to know what people think and if it could change the commander's placing at all. The deck runs Zurgo Bellstriker as the commander, but is not at all your average mono red aggro deck. I think its a very interesting way to look at him and I'd like to see if anyone else thinks so too. It is a competitive build so keep that in mind.

Penguin_Gamer_1 not sure if im blind or something but you have no artifacts? im not seeing a section for them. you have literally 0 mana generation for fast mana, so i dont even need to look at the deck to tell you it is in no way shape or form optimized. No mana crypt? mana vault? coldsteel heart even? no ruby medallion or fire diamond or whatever those cheap ones are? youre missing a LOT of key cards

I think that is so he can get blight or ula garunteed off of Indomitable Creativity. This deck would simply fall behind and lose if they stop the poly btw. Cool idea, but not tuned by most standards.

July 28, 2017 8:17 a.m.

Yeah the lack of artifacts is so Indomitable Creativity is a true polymorph, which, I admit, does slow down the deck, but that's why I have all of blood-es cards and removal in order to keep me alive a little longer and have pretty much every ritual effect possible for the deck. If you could help in tuning it at all it would be much appreciated.

July 28, 2017 10:20 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #21

I think the largest problem you face is that U has ways of tutoring for the Polymorph, you have Gamble. That's really it.

July 28, 2017 10:23 a.m.

Ohthenoises Yeah I kind of realized that and outlined a little in the deck description, but I do try to make up for (although not by much) with wheel effects that dig me through the deck faster. I think one thing the deck needs more of is stax effects that let me survive a little longer, but it's very hard to do without having access to artifacts. I don't know if it would be correct to take out Indomitable Creativity so I could run artifacts while sacrificing more of the consistency. Let me know what you think.

merrowMania Looks like Rogue and Clerics confirmed Tribes in Commander 2017. They leaked too much info at Hascon.
