I think meren is a tier 1 commander.
Here is my submission: Ultra Competitive Meren Stax - The Unholy Bible

phDaemon i have to disagree. While i think meren is extremely good, i dont believe she could be the same power level as teferri or even GAAIV. Besides, your list has too many creatures, most of which arent really needed, and no mana vault or other key cards. The one currently listed is much better, and deserves its spot in tier 2. Although, i think even that could be slightly better

Athraithe, what creatures you think are worthless? And what other key cards are missing exactly?
Could you show me the list you're talking about as currently listed?
Thanks.

phDaemon body snatcher, joraga treespeaker, not sure about mindslicer (could go either way), priest of titania, and i dont realy agree with yisan in either list. I already mentioned one card you need, mana vault. where is your top? victimize? regrowth? abrupt decay?
List is posted in the tier 2 dropdown

Body Snatcher is a line into protean hulk combo that it seems not many people realize (And it's one that lets you protect your combo). Joraga Treespeaker and Priest of Titania are both no-tempo-loss type mana dorks that work well when the board is locked, especially with things like Contamination or Nether Void out, and even greater if Survival of the Fittest is out, this usually means I win, both of those were chosen over Mana Vault on purpose, especially since I may have to get a null rod out depending on how the game goes. Why Victimize? I run Necromancy instead, which can be cast during upkeep as instant to win the game. Yisan, the Wanderer Bard another tutor. Regrowth maybe something i will add. Abrupt Decay is worthless in this deck, stax is better.
Protean Hulk -> Body Snatcher + Viscera Seer or other + Sylvan Safekeeper -> bring hulk back -> Mike / Ballista = winning line that protects combo.
Show me how to do that without the snatcher just using the delver if you have no sac outlet out?
Also, Sylvan Library > top. And I run Arena AND bob. Drawing cards seems to me like it's better than just looking at them.
But ok. I guess we'll just differ in opinions.

Btw, once you start the hulk chain with snatcher, it can hardly be responded to (since saccing is a cost), and once it can be easily responded to, the safekeeper is out so you can just sac a land and win. And it has the added bonus of letting you discard a combo piece (like hulk) if it's in your hand to then animate him... Many many lines into hulk combo from that snatcher.

Meren being tier 1 is a meme. Shes not even competitively viable tbh. She is too slow to get on line, she has next to no answers to the vast majority of competitive decks, lacks the tools to effectively slow decks down to her level, her color scheme is pedestrian, and the thing she wants to do (hulk shenanigans) she is outclassed by Varolz (who is nowhere near tier 1. In a mid to high power meta Meren often dominates since you have the luxury to get value off her ability 5-7 times over the course of the game, but none of that matters in faster games.

I would like to submit my Erayo, Soratami Ascendant list for the tier banned spot.
It aims to get a lock with Arcane Laboratory.

why isnt gitrog t1 tbh. his dredge loops are pretty quick and he offers protection against grave hate by simply milling to the next shuffle effect

As good as gitrog is, partners, Tazri, Zur, and Teferi are better. All one needs to do to stop froggie is counter/ kill him/her/it or the discard outlet. Froggie also does not function if cards like notion thief, rest in peace, or gilded drake hits the table. So in short, froggies color scheme is meh (4 colors to 2 colors is a massive dropoff in card quality) and froggie is commandercentric. In comparison, breakfast hulk is objectively faster, has better colors, is even harder to stop due to many different paths to victory, and has the ability to silence the table or say no to interaction (counterspells). Breakfast hulk can even stop stuff like Faerie Macabre and counterspells with an empty hand via Memory's Journey+Flash of Insight. Given froggie and sBTs unexpected success in the cEDH tourney and the rise of hulk decks, the meta is extremely hostile to decks like froggie that need somewhat favorable conditions to win consistently.

Angels and Demons for Breakfast by Dan Brownweaver
Commander / EDH*

Just as a point of reference. This is my version of breakfast hulk, which has reanimator lines instead of Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace . For about the same concentration of combo peices that decks like froggie need, this deck can win via Razaketh, the Foulblooded Buried Alive+Reanimate, Bomberman, PacMan, Hermit druid, Manual Cephalid Illusionist+Nomads en-Kor, flash hulk or just reanimate Jin and it survives for a turn cycle. The deck averages slightly faster than a turn 3 win, it is viable in longer (2+hour games), all the combo enablers are interchageable, both thras and tymna offer card advantage and are efficiently costed, and the deck has answers to any situation. For a deck to be tier 1, this is the type of deck it is up against. There are (maybe) 5-6 decks at this level. I love SBT and even froggie, but they are not in the same league tbh

Hi all
I would like to add my two cents in the form of questions/statements/insights or whatever you might call it. After all this is a tier list based on the feedback of players. I have been playing cEDH for quite some time, and I play in a playgroup of 4 with only a few house rules other than last man standing. I have played and played against many of the tier 1.5 decks and up, and I feel like something should be changed in this list, so here goes:
First I think the tier 1 should be seen as a "decks to beat", much like it is done on MTGthesource in the legacy forums. Tier 1 or DTB should only be the downright best of the best commanders at the moment. In my opionion there are only 6 DTB in cEDH and those are: Teferi, Tazri, Jeleva, Thrasios/Tymna, Zur and Kess.
I think that Prossh only really shines vs. other heavy combo decks or just tier 2 decks and down, where as Tazri (which is the other FC deck) is in almost all aspects a better deck. Sure it is a bit more vunerable if you get disrupted, but Tazri really has a lot of tools which helps the pilot battle disruption and more importantly stop other decks which Prossh can't really do.
Next as much as I love Sigi (and the other guys from lab maniac) I feel like the Tymna/Tana deck is only in tier 1 because its made by him, Luke and Lerker. Put that deck in a meta with a combination of any of the 6 commanders I listed above as DTB and it just falls behind.
And lastly there is Ydris. A commander which I just havent seen shine. Also I have a hard time understanding what this deck does that Jeleva just doesnt do better. It seems like Ydris trades Jeleva's comeback options for speed, and it just doesn't seem to be a good trade against other DTB commanders imo.
Sidenote I would maybe consider putting Breya, Shaper Savant in DTB. I am not certain yet, but I think the deck is very strong and seems prette resilient.
Then there is the tier 1.5
I would remove the following commanders:
Captain Sisay; Razaketh, the Foulblooded; Selvala, Heart of the Wilds; Sidisi, Undead Vizier.
I would add:
Ydris, Maelstrom Wielder; Tymna the Weaver/Tana, the Bloodsower; Prossh, Skyraider of Kher.
Thats my two cents.
Cheers and happy new year!

Hm, is Vendillion Clique really tier 4? I think it has some untapped potential against cEDH decks and can prob hit tier 3.
Bunch of artifact/blue enchantment stax pieces, counterspells and draw spells, built in combo disruption, and if you can flicker/sac replay it, it can keep people from comboing off. Think I might try and make a list.

Mfstrom I have tried, multiple times, to get Prossh moved down to teir 1.5 or t2. There is always support from between 5-8 people agreeing that he is no longer tier 1. thegigibeast, sonnet666 and NarejED either by chance have all missed it the two times i've started the petition, or are just ignoring it because they disagree and don't want to move him. It's probably the first, but idk.
Prossh is clearly not T1, hasn't been for a while, but what can you do? /shrug.

kyuuri117 eventually this list simply is a subjective ranking, no matter how many people discuss stuff in the comments. Due to lack of tournament data, it's only people deciding based on theory and individual playing experience.

Rivals Spoilers are happening:
Thrashing Brontodon - It has not been officially spoiled, so be wary with discussion about this card (see the end of the description of the list)
- Seems fun. I really only see Varolz or Ghave enabling it, but it's so slow anyway.
- Since it is each upkeep and affects all Saprolings, Blood Pod may like it. Else, Glissa can use it to make a hard lock with Possessed Portal.
- New legend. Since he draws cards and is UG, he can probably make it to Tier 3. 7/10 Decent Merfolk. Side note, I will be testing him in Modern Tropical (UG) Merfolk.
- Probably Nin-able.
- Only works from hand, then on EtB. Tier 4 would be generous.
- I don't remember what Tier people were theorizing. Someone else dig it up :P

Ghalta was theorized as just being Selvala, but bad. Basically an enabler in Selvalas 99, and not a great one at that.

Tendershoot Dryad seems pretty strong in some decks. I'll venture that it will see some play. At first it didn't seem that good to me, but then I read it again and realized it says EACH upkeep (not just yours). Possessed Portal lock was mentioned. Contamination too. It also ends up being a great finisher since you're eventually just making four 3/3 dudes every turn.
Agree that it could be something to try out in Blood Pod and other green decks that want an effect like this.

Hey all, I'd like to present a Nahiri, the Lithomancer stax deck for review: Nahiri Stax
Added a brief primer as well to explain some of the choices.
Obviously, mono-white is never going to be tier 1 in cedh, but I think this list might be able to push Nahiri up from t4 to t3. In my (admittedly brief) testing, the deck seems to fare pretty well against a lot of the meta, including fast combo decks, due to the saturation of diverse stax pieces it runs.
However, I'm interested in any of your thoughts and feedback, and ways that this deck could be improved. Please let me know!
