I think they're arguing what Magic archetypes exist in cEDH. From my very limited understanding it's Combo, Stax, and I guess Midrange that exist as tier 1 archetypes, whereas Aggro (Edric) is more of a tier 2 at best.

Pretty sure zero people here are confused with the archetypes that exist in the game.

If we apply this to EDH, every deck falls on or under the Non-Linear-Linear line on the graph. That leaves us with our archetypes being Combo, some variation of combo+control, and possibly combo-aggro (could be glass cannon decks like Mono B Sidisi).

As for Yuriko, I think we have to set aside the "dmg doesn't matter anyway" thought because we all know that there are cEDH decks that frequently kill with damage. Also, Yuriko makes all opponents lose life equally, so she can kill multiple opponents at once with her ability...ad nauseam and necropotence users aren't happy to lose large chunks of life fast either.

So, what I see here isn't a worse Doomsday commander than others but rather an option for a stax deck that actually wants to kill with her ability. Well, it can even use Doomsday I guess...how many cheap Ninjas do we have? Maybe Arcane Adaptation and stack shit in DD (3 triggers with cmc 12+ stuff?) or with Brainstorm or Scroll rack? In a stax shell it should be possible and probably better than just letting that commander front a genreric UB Doomsday build.

This is my first attempt at a Vaevictis stax deck. Im not sure where i went wrong but i feel like i did. Hopefuly someone like n0bunga will be able to refine the list and make it a true tier deck (Vaevy girl)

With green, your dorks can do the whole five mana thing pretty easily, and it is a Jund draw engine, I mean, yes, green, red, and black ave draw, but in terms of commanders, Xira Arien was the queen until now, with some good application in Adun Oakenshield. Windgrace can at least get some filtering and good card draw.

With red for a lot of Armageddon effects (Decree of Annihilation, Ruination, Boom // Bust, etc.), I can certainly imagine it's rebuilding effect to come in handy.

I still think Shattergang Bros has beat it as it is a great way to shut down artifact and creature based mana, but otherwise I'd still claim Windgrace as the #2 jund stax deck. It could certainly be tier 2.5-3.

id like to submit a mostly tuned (but basically unplayed) deck for Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire --- Vaevy girl. Will be testing it throughout the week in a few weeks as ill be preoccupied with a few weddings and funerals until the 13th

No love for Najeela, the Blade-Blossom?

I've seen this deck wipe out a table turn 3 or 4 consistently. She's a one-card killing machine. Not sure which tier she belongs in, but I can't imagine less than Tier 2.

I too am curious where Najeela will land on the tier list.

Daedronus ForsakenxEDHx you can find Najeela as the example deck for Ramos in the list above...unfortunately the list hasn't been updated since. I would also say she should move up a bit because if Ramos was fine in 2 with that build, then the deck with Najeela is definitely better because she really provides a strong plan B now and also helps a lot with the main plan. This is the build that is still listed under Ramos at the moment:

BTW, I'm currently working on the new Saheeli as a classic Stax deck...probably going to build this in paper as well because I always wanted a 2nd Ux stax besides GAAIV. Here's the list:

This is my savra stax deck you can add to your list if you'd like, says you need one. Any upgrades can be made. I'm still fairly new to edh and competitive edh at that.

I do not play cEDH but that list looks a bit too slow to have a impact on the other decks at the table

I'd like to petition getting Xira Arien moved to Tier 2. I have been piloting her in the Ranked system on the cEDH discord to a 62.5% win rate with a 95% confidence interval between 24.5% and 91.5%. Clearly, Xira storm can hang with the big boys.

I would like to propose this Lord Windgrace stax deck. Maybe T3 ?

So far, very oppressive and worked surprisingly good in multiplayer King of Wakanda

Najeela is insanely strong and resilient. I’ve made two different lists for her, one uses a Razaketh shell and the other is just synergistic. Najeela is just an 8 card package that can literally be jammed into any of your favorite shells.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/competitve-najeela-20/

This is the current list I’ve been running in my local meta and she hangs or edges out many of the fact combo decks, almost doesn’t seem to care about stax decks, and is fully capable of slowing down other decks until you can seal the deal. I’ve been board-wiped as many as three times in a game and Najeela still makes a come back with enough interaction to keep people off their plan.

Just to let you know your missing the new 2018 set of commanders.

"You're* missing" and they arent missing. If you had read any of the past comments that talked about what you said, youd see the list hasnt been updated in quite a while. Just have some patience please

SynergyBuild says... #20

Athraithe well I've been waiting for well over a month for an update they promised July 9th and haven't delivered on, so I feel complaining is a decent course of action, not great, but justified at least.

August 15, 2018 9:46 a.m.

WUBRG97 says... #21

This list is not their work, if people paid them full time to update this list, we would probably see the list updated within the hour of a new legendary spoiled.

But since it is just their hobby, see every bigger update as an unexpected present =)

And if one would want to know the tier level, merrowMania makes lots of excellent comments on where the different commanders would be placed, and there are lots of other places on the internet where they discuss competitive commanders :)

n0bunga look, I wasn't saying it should be done, but telling someone else to have patience implies they were impatient, which I believe waiting for well over a month is indeed patient, I am not owed anything, nor were you, well at least not individually, but the current owners of this list claimed on June 9th, that we should 'Stay tuned for some more updates!' and I have, and no updates have come out in they last month+. That was all I was saying, not that they were bad, or that complaining helped anything, but simply that many people were indeed patient, and they did promise something that has yet to happen. I apologize if you though I was saying anything else.

SynergyBuild says... #23

Never claimed to be a monk, at least unless World of Warcraft is included in that xD

Also, I never said they promised a time, only that they promised there will be a time, whether that is 40 years from now or 2 days from today, I think me saying justified still works, as in there was a generalized promise made, and anyone can ask for clarification on the promise, or ask for the promise to be made.

I don't want to say that 'we deserve what we want right now!' or anything, simply that asking for such a thing eventually is perfectly justified. All in all:

'The question can be asked, and is justified, the intended result doesn't have to be made, nor is it required.'

Okay? I honestly don't think we disagree, and simply are looking at the same situation at different angles, when I say justified, I mean that the question itself, saying things like 'When will the update you promised come out?' or something similar isn't 'impatient', as it isn't saying 'You need to do the update right now!', it is simply asking for clarification. The intent might be something like that, but it also might not, and I never said the intent was justified, simply the question in its essence.

SynergyBuild says... #24

Oh, sorry, I might have made the wrong word choice, the thing I thought they said that made a promise was this quote:

'This means there will be a lot of changes, from the formatting of the list, the division of the tiers, event a change in the philosophy of what we call tiers here!'

The stay tuned for more updates things I thought simply meant they would keep us updated about their progress, but I guess either could work, sorry about the confusion!

August 15, 2018 11:57 a.m.

SynergyBuild says... #25

I honestly could care less for the tiers, I use this list to get good decklists for each commander, which isn't done currently for the commanders not posted, I mean I can look them up, and do the research, but the whole point of this list is to do that, and I am not great at finding those decks, especially when they are very new.
