High tide decks generally aren't both not mono-blue and are arrtifact based, since an instant/sorcery deck is generally more beneficial than a ton of arifacts used to just build mana.

NObunga and SynergyBuild Estrid can win on the spot with Chain Veil by using her ultimate infinite times to deck yourself, and you get Blind Obedience and infinitely cast Estrid. Also I never thought her +2 targeted anything, just that it is a mass untap effect for lands, leading me at least to make her into Stax. The instant kill/win with this is a lot harder to pull of than Teferi though. It requires Estrid to be able to ultimate as soon as the Chain Veil loops start, and the enchanted lands are very subesecptible to Wasteland effects, Also her ultimate can screw herself over by fetching a Stony Silence or a Rule of Law. I geuss at this point I am hoping that Estrid will be able to even comp[are to Chain Veil Teferi.

I think Estrid might break tier 3 with stax. She can set it up fairly quickly, and with the untapping ability and enchanting ability can easily sustain it, plus in bant you have all the pieces you need.

generalrenard to achieve infinite mana, her plus ability needs to be activated infinite times, which means she will not die by using her negative ability. Due to this she can't be recast without another card. She cannot ultimate more than once a turn, because she needs to use the plus ability and untap The Chain Veil if she wants to use another ability. This means she cannot do more than infinite mana, and a single ultimate. I fail to see how she ultimates multiple times in your explanation.

Raesak While her ability does help break a stax lock, the easiest comparable commander would be Teferi, Temporal Archmage. With a -1 ability that can generate more mana than Estrid, the Masked's can when put into a normal deck not built around the commander, and card draw capabilities included, it is a clear winner, especially when considering it has much better combo. Bant colors and a lower cmc are all that Estrid, the Masked has, and I do not think that is enough to easily justify it in a better tier than tier 2.5. If it gets placed in tier 3 however, I will not be surprised.

SynergyBuild, Estrid can ultimate in similarly to the same way Teferi works.
Theoretically, if Estrid is on 3 with a mask on the Chain veil, you use the untap ability to put her up to 7, the Chain Veil will be tapped, and you ultimate and kill Estrid, milling 7 and Replenishing. Then with the pooled mana, you recast Estrid and you immediately have multiple unused Chain Veil activations, and you use them to put her back up to 7, kill herself, and replenish infinitely. You will also get more mana from the replenish triggers by getting ramp auras. You win by infinitely casting and killing Estrid while extorting Blind Obedience

Since commander tax is involved, you cannot repeat that cycle despite being able to make large amounts of mana, if you goal is to reach only 7 mana. That means you only get two activations before needing to sacrifice her, and though she could have more activations, it is not self-sufficient as no number of two activations can ever infinitely recast Estrid.

Then how does the Teferi Chain Veil combo work? I assumed the two combos worked on the same premises.
August 29, 2018 10:07 p.m.
Teferi generates infinite mana. He can use his - like 5 times before dying which is enough to recast him, then you can + him with all the previous chain veil activations before going back to using his - until u draw the deck

Quick question for everyone, what do you all think of Myth Unbound with Saffi Eriksdotter as commander? It helps keeps Saffi's cost down and incentivises using her ability more (there's a really fine balance between using her ability and not normally).

Not really something I think matters as most of the time, the Saffi combo lists want Saffi in the yard.
August 30, 2018 8:41 a.m.
SynergyBuild: Unless you're right about to combo, having Saffi in the graveyard is the worst place to have her.
If you're trying to generate any outside of combo value, you don't want her in your yard because then she's a dead card until you hit recursion. And it's a moot point inside of combo.

At least in the top variants I have seen of Saffi, you don't cast her until you combo. So yeah, moot point.

When will this list be updated with Dominaria and M19?

I have long understood now that Estrid is a lot worse than Teferi, but I'm still wondering how to make Estrid even resemble Teferi. Anyway, so are you saying that without the infinite colorless combos, you can't infinitely cast Teferi?

Pretty underwhelming, tbh, no really good deck has appeared, and so I'd maybe say tier 3?

Jhoira Stax is decent. I'd say she belongs in Tier 2 more than Anafenza, Bruna, Daretti, Damia, etc. Same goes for Xira Arien, but no updates have occurred in this list in months, so it doesn't really matter

Yes, I wonder when the updates are actually coming. Last news was July, I'd like to hear more about what's happening

I'd expect to see Najeela, the Blade-Blossom in tier 1 or tier 1.5 with the next update. She is so dang fast and part of a few 2 card infinite combat combos.

budlaorf Not really, I can't imagine tier 1. Pod decks can make it at least tier 2 though. Yes it has two-card combos, but you need 5 creatures to really pull it off, at least with Druids' Repository. You need at least 5 lands that can be reused with Sword of Feast and Famine, and you need to connect for that one, or survive for combos like Bear Umbra or Nature's Will. The combos with Najeela is just too slow to be considered cEDH on its own. But by running other combos in the deck, the five-color combo list is okay.
The issue with that, is pod or other 5-color combos helmed by Najeela are all just strictly worse than Food Chain General Tazri. I can never imagine Najeela at this rate to be Tier 1. Perhaps a future set will give a better combo to it, who knows.
September 2, 2018 2:11 p.m.
Najeela need to be added to this list. She is extremely fast, and removal barely helps against her as tribal warriors already tend to run quite aggressively.
She'd likely be a tier 2 or 2.5

Lecrayen the only competitive Najeela list is a combo list, not aggro. I'd agree on the tier placement though.

Najeela would be Tier 2 or higher, but again, many of the current slots in Tier 2 are and were never good or were good during the pre-partial Paris mulls but suck now. The list needs a vast overhaul

perhaps draw-go stax might be better for saheeli. the main problem remains the lack of CA but the cost reduction is nothing to sniff at. hmmm maybe theres a decent HT shell cause reducing a time spiral/twister sounds great
