ThatGrimGuy you're the only one who is being opinionated and arguing so get off your high horse and move along to another page already if you don't like what you see. All of us are aware that there are not accurate placements, but Jhoira is appropriately placed according to everyone besides you. We even acknowledge that there is not much of a distinguishable difference between Maximum Power and Competitive frequently, but if you actually read the descriptions of each tier, you would understand that Maximum Power generals "have proven themselves as consistently competitive, even over several shifts in the meta." That's it. Right in front of you. I commonly refer to Maximum Power as a sort of extension of the Competitive tier because there is not much of a difference between the two, but you wouldn't know that because you decided to pop in out of nowhere without the slightest clue of how the power level of each commander is measured.

I will say that you're neglecting to recognize that we also pointed out that Jhoira has inconsistencies since she isn't in Grixis colors. That's a big one buddy. Also, all of the commanders in Maximum Power use the commander themselves in their main strategy, obviously. Why else would they use them right? The thing is, and the big difference between them and your precious clickbait titled Jhoira deck (I checked it out and contributed one view, you're welcome) is that they can actually do something productive without the commander on the field while Jhoira can't refuel the hand and keep the gears moving when she isn't on the battlefield, and that's a huge part of your goal. You also rely heavily on well timed counterspells for protection, which isn't effective when someone exhausts them with cheap removal toward your commander and lays down an Arcane Laboratory, Rule of Law, or Damping Sphere. How do you combat that? A 100% competitive meter isn't the most accurate thing to go off of either by the way.

It goes without saying, but I'm going to go ahead and say it. This is a community driven page, and when someone like you barges in here and is making bold claims for a tier placement without much of an argument, and dismisses other commanders who have earned the placements they were given with even less of an argument, it comes across as really abrasive and is a poor demonstration of your character. No one here is going to take you seriously unless you have something legitimate to go off of.

This is a bit off topic, but even for a Mid-Power General, I can say from experience that Chromium, the Mutable as a finisher alongside Approach of the Second Sun in an Esper control shell, while it’s no Banana man, it’s still really fun to play and can hold it’s own against competitive decks... if played right! Essentially it’s a deck of answers and good Esper value, with a very light stax package (Arcane Lab, Stony Silence, silences, etc). You gotta be a bit more careful in your answers though!

n0bunga

green- yisan/selvala.

white- sram is boarderline. white doesnt really do it a bunch of the time

red- godo. hands down. the rest dont really compete

blue- CVT. probably jvp and baral following

black- SUV and raza

colorless- id argue karn, hope of ghir, or newzilek.

also the only other tier lists that ive seen that hold community merit are the cedh reddit listings and averagedragon's listing. Under both of which, the listings only cover decks that have been proven which cut out like 70+% of the commanders. Up to you which one to use.

Godo Helm is the only list. They're all mostly identical.

gtoast99 wrote a solid cEDH primer for the list when Helm of the Host spoiled. It can be found here.

Also chaosumbreon87, I added you on Discord earlier today. I didn't know there was a Discord server for Aminatou, so if you would be so kind to add me to it I would love to present our Stax Primer on that server for review and discussion.

DangoDaikazoku y'all should make untap.in accounts. After you get to know people you learn who's good for cEDH and we could for sure use a larger cEDH presence

Soren841 Lol I suck at untap.in, tried it though xD, and I don't know what the novel is...

Oh wait, the comment from before? DangoDaikazoku I blame you... you deliciously amazing hype man that overhyped my 1000+ word essay on why Grimmy boi was wrong?

BTW ThatGrimGuy, still waiting for you to respond m8, that 4 line "It is my opinion" argument when you said we were factually wrong earlier, claiming slowness, and a low reliance of the commander, of which none are opinions, well...

It was weak.

December 13, 2018 5:55 p.m.

oh people do cedh on untap? its usually just find games through the main cedh discord and games played through cockatrice, xmage, or webcams.

Lol I don't do Discord anymore. Even if I did I'm banned on the cEDH Discords. And yeah there's some cEDH in untap but u gotta keep an active block list and get to know who's good. I like to look through people's decks who r like active in chat because if they've got decks listed as cEDH you know that they actually know what it is

Cool Aminatou list. I've been thinking of making one too. Ill def use yours for inspiration if I make one.

ThatGrimGuy, What other tier lists do you know of? This is the only one I've seen. Id like to see others if they are out there.

Soren841 wait you're banned on the cEDH forums? What?

Dango says... #17

Aphoticate Thank you for the praise! We've gotten some great feedback lately and we may be modifying the list with some slight revisions in the near future. I highly recommend trying it out, and tuning the deck a bit to suit what you commonly face in your current metagame to get some great results.

Ok, I did not visit this page for over a year, and didnt do much cEDH during that time, so I have some questions:

1) Why is godo not in competetive? I mean, when he enters the battlefield, he basically wins the game. The only challenge is ramping up to it and protecting godo. I know this is quite hard to do in mono red, but he still consistently threatens turn 3 or even 2 wins, which is competetive for me. The easier disruption factor would be the factor for him not being t0.

2) Why is Yidris t1 and not t0? He has access to some sweet green cards which would male him even more consistent then grixis storm builds, and IF he is out, its impossible to not storm off, its such a good value engine. I just am curious.

3) Mizzix competetive? A 2/2 vanilla dude in izzet, not grixis, that needs multiple spells to be cast to be effective. I mean, I really love him, and if he has some counters on him, it also is pretty hard to not storm off, but isnt he a little bit too inconsistent with his colours and the setup he needs? Also, the deck NEEDS him to be out there, without him, it gets so much harder than with a basic grixis deck.

4) I am just curious about Oona being competetive. Someome care to explain?

Dango says... #21

Ranavolio Admittedly I can't speak on behalf of Yidris or Mizzix, since I don't see Storm come up very often at all in my meta. However, I can say several people fought tooth and nail for Godo to be placed in competitive, and I personally believe he should be for the reasons you stated. As for Oona, she is a win con from the command zone from what I understand. Much like Circu, Dramatic Scepter is an instant win if you have enough rocks, except you need the scepter combo to be mana positive in order to generate infinite mana and dump it into Oona to mill everyone to death, while the rest of the deck plays much like a Dralnu Storm list as they run just about the same 99 which makes her considerably better than Dralnu.

I'm sure Soren841 can tell you about Yidris, as I believe they pilot him often. Really probably anyone else with more knowledge than me about Storm decks can share their thoughts on Yidris and Mizzix. I'm a Stax player so I just try to stop those darn Storm boys from doing their thing.

Yidris should be tier 0, along with Jeleva. Mizzix can be complicated, there's a primer.

December 14, 2018 8:16 p.m.

Aphoticate says... #23

I personally think Mizzix is great. Idk if he's worth competitive tier or not, but he's one of my favourite commanders.

December 14, 2018 9:20 p.m.

Soren841 says... #24

Mizzix should be high power tops. We already know this list has its issues.

December 14, 2018 10:11 p.m.

Ok where is this notion of tier 0 coming up? tier 0 is irrelevant as all the tier 1 commanders have stuck there for years and earned their merit. Godo seems tier 2 to me. hes earned his place there being fast enough to be powered out and suited up by turns 1-3. The problem, as with all red decks is faltering with. Thats the barrier to tier 1 with him right now. Yidris is not t0 because there is no t0. The other 2 have been answered by dango
