I would like to propose this list of Yidris to see if he can still classify for maximum power. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/yidris-dont-care/
Also I think Saskia list like this should have some considerations. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/saskia-politics-is-dumb/
I know I'm Bias but they've served me well at every table ranging from most competitive to moderately competitive.

So my paper group still does partial mulligans and I'm finding myself with a functional Yawgmoth's bargain on turn 3 with Yawgmoth, Thran Physican + any Undying creature....ALOT. Not sure how consistant it is with other mulligan styles but it's surprisingly reliable for me so far when using partials...

Guys!? What is this new ban list crap going to do to t&t power now?

Recent_skepticism it's going to do nothing to T&T. Urza, Sisay, and Arcum are all going to get a LOT worse, especially Sisay and Arcum. Sisay might just fall of the small amount of play she got, same thing with Arcum.

Urza does NOT get much worse. Paradox Engine was just a backup plan, not the main line. The deck will be fine.
Sisay is DEFINTELY hosed now, though.

RIP Sisay, maybe one day Sheldon will stop making the ban lists and wizards will handle it...
July 8, 2019 7:04 p.m.
generalrenard some T&T variants take a big hit others not that much, Urza also doesn't take too big a hit. But Arcum and Sisay aren't gonna be nearly as good. So overall rip diversity but it should be fine...

Captain Sisay is 100% losing her place in Maximum Power. Competitive is stretching it now as well considering that it was THE game plan... In a format where 2 card combos run wild, it was one of the few things that enabled other decks to remain competitive.
It's like Teferi losing The Chain Veil , Godo losing Helm of the Host , or multiple decks losing access to either Protean Hulk or Food Chain ...
Meanwhile, we get freakin Painter's Servant + Grindstone back and whatever other awful combinations will come about from it... yeah, that makes sense...
Also, RIP collection value. Bought/traded for 5 copies of Paradox Engine for use in 5 of 14 decks...

Won't Sidisi, Undead Vizier be hurt with the new ban list?
July 8, 2019 9:58 p.m.
Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed that Paradox is banned. While I do agree that it was extremely powerful, I thought it brought a healthy amount of diversity and win cons for many decks for cEDH. I really hope that the rules committee can settle down and actually generate a list of cards that really deserved to be banned. Because right now, the ban list seems very arbitrary and no two cards follow a similar criteria.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier will get a bit benifit for unbaning painter.

The Paradox Engine ban makes sense for casual, since it lets decks do long noninfinite combo turns with low cmc spells and mana rocks.
However if the rules committee really wanted to commit to making their banlist directed at casual (meaning "ban all undercosted non-buildaround op cards"), then they would also have to hit Necropotence , Food Chain , Survival of the Fittest , Mana Crypt , etc.
Instead, they banned Iona, Shield of Emeria . Turn 1 Entomb , turn 2 Animate Dead Iona can be pretty annoying, but still, she isn't that oppressive either, not even compared to turn 2 Blightsteel Colossus .

Sephyrias are you achieving Blightsteel Colossus for 3 mana over the first 2 turns using only 2 nonland cards from your opening hand?
If so - then yeah, it's more oppressive than iona in casual. Iona feels like a preemptive ban to prevent iona-servant locks (seems simpler to assemble than Karn, the Great Creator + Mycosynth Lattice locks and Stasis + stasis parity breaker locks)

Sephyrias I don't endorse the RC's logic in banning (and especially their stubbornness in blatantly ignoring cEDH) BUT their logic on Paradox Engine is that it enables big combo turns without intentional setup. If you'd running Food Chain you're much more likely running cast-from-exile creatures and infinite mana payoffs. A lot of casual folks identify Engine as a powerful card with a cool effect and then randomly look up and think "WOW I CAN Capsize THE BOARD because I have Gilded Lotus , Sol Ring , AND Mind Stone !

the RC ignores cEDH because they dont give a damn. and why would they. they started the RC to support a casual mp format. they already spend the rest of the day judging cut-throat competitive decks. from RCs pov cEDH is just a popular houserule or philosophy

I wonder how many things will get flipped upside down since Paradox Engine got banned 7/8/19
July 10, 2019 2:45 p.m.
its there a possibility that sigi or shaper or various people that play cedh and have experience create a ban list for cedh community? i would like that and im sure many other people that play cedh will love it to
July 11, 2019 11:35 p.m.
psm212003 the common response from most people in regards to this is that they don't wanna split the format...

Not sure if I am allowed to suggest it since I did not make the deck myself but Roxie on MTG MUddstah's channel played a super scary Ghalta deck that I feel was certainly stronger than Mid-Power when considered competitively. Not saying it is cEDH level but at least High Power. Here is the list she made.
