Edgar is listed on the Cedh database. Just saying. If it is on that database, that makes it competitive. It assembles a razaketh tutor chain and wins from there,

Is this list dead now? I haven't seen an update since Theros.

Aphoticate how do you miss every single Ikoria commander? :P They update the list, it's just not lightning fast, cEDH metagame develops over time. I feel like more often than not big updates come with new meta decks in the competitive categories. Commander legends will probably take a long while to get posted here if I was a betting man.

kingtuf, Oops my bad. I saw them on there but for some reason I was thinking Ikoria came out before Theros lol. I've been waiting to see the Jumpstart commanders for quite a while.

"This list needs a huge update"
You guys are aware this is done for free right? Give these people time to info gather as well as handle their own personal lives. This is basically a hobby w/o pay.

What do you guys think about moving Golos up a tier? I think he's got everything he needs to belong there. 5 colors, and the ability to more consistently resolve high impact spells like Ad Nauseam and Doomsday through Boseiju, Who Shelters All. The release of Peer into the Abyss also helps his case. He plays similarly to a Jeleva, a bit slower, but more consistent.

I think Golos although good isn't going to be as great as those in the upper next tier. I mean if Narset isn't up there and is essentially better (in my opinion) what chance does Golos have? I mean, Kinnan, Urza, and Rielle are nothing to sneeze at.

I am interested in how the printing of Opposition Agent affects the power level of Yisan, the Wanderer Bard it seems to me that with nearly every black deck now playing tutor hate it becomes more and more difficult for him.
Relentless5 in the A tier. She's amongst the most powerful commanders.

Curious as to the reasoning that chulane isn't higher. Easily one of, if not the best food chain commander. He ramps and the mana is immediately useable, he draws cards and he even has a pseudo protection bounce effect. Only real gripe I can see against him is 5 Mana is a little expensive, but not really when you're in green, and he doesn't have access the black tutors, which does suck but there are tutors in his colors that can grab his combo pieces.

Eternal77: Chulane losses access to the forbidden tutors and (as you pointed out) black tutors in general.
That's why Ukkima, Stalking Shadow is so strong comparatively, because you have your win condition in the command zone and you can forbidden tutor your entire deck for Food Chain.

enpc ok I get the reasoning, no guarantee you get one of the other food chain pieces though, and besides that one interesting interaction with the forbidden tutors, ukkima doesn't really provide any extra value. I guess I just see commanders that provide some sort of advantage as opposed to just being combo pieces as more consistent commanders overall

Eternal77 with no black access, Chulane, Teller of Tales is a terrible Food Chain commander, he has only like 3 possible cards that can find food chain (Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, and Drift of Phantasms) if a commander doesn't have black, it is not a good FC commander.
December 8, 2020 10:06 p.m.
Eternal77: You may not hit your CFE creature for sure, but that's all just part of the game. And adding an additional 3 tutors to the deck is nothing to scoff at.
The other thing is that Chulane will generally leverage Thassa's Oracle / Laboratory Maniac for the win, but has to assemble the food chain combo first and then go from there. The benefit that Ukkima has is that the deck can still run the Thassa's Oracle + Tainted Pact combo which gives you a very clean out and redundancy on Food Chain, while Chulane either still relies entirely on food chain (which isn't great) or you have to devote additonal slots to a non-overlapping combo to provide redundancy in the deck.
On top of this, Chulane also costs 5, so while he is an engine that can draw you cards, it's not he cheapest mana investment. The other part of it is that wile you will be running a higher creature count to try and leverage food chain/Chulane himself, most cEDH decks still have a relatively low creature count. So while you definitely can transform a mana dork into another card (which is awesome), it can still be a bit hit and miss.

enpc you can run thassa's and lab man in chulane sure but it's but it's hardly the primary win. Once you get food chain in chulane you can effectively play every card in your deck as it's not limited by the food chain Mana like other food chain decks, so choose your whatever win con you want. I tend to win via finale of deviation far more often then thassa's with the deck. I personally also run academy rector and sterling grove in my decklist as well, so it's really only 1 more tutor. The Mana cost I can't really argue with but he's hardly the only 5cmc commander in competitive and being in green does mitigate this disadvantage especially considering how much card advantage he can generate. As for the high creature count that also is more of an advantage then a disadvantage as well. There are plenty of low cmc creatures that are terrific in cedh and the deck can be built in a variety of strategies from more Staxy to more of a turbo elfball deck as two examples. And you said yourself having more creatures synergizes better with food chain so really running it in a deck that wants to run less creature spells makes it overall less effective.
I do appreciate your feedback and you make some fine points. I just find the cedh scene really starts to fit itself into a very narrow view of what it thinks is good and isn't when there are many different options out there that get overlooked simply because it's maybe missing a color for example, even though it doesn't really need it.

Winota needs to move up, its definintely not Tier 4. Tier 2 or Tier 2.5 as it will absolutely feast on any decks lower than that. Heres my list for reference. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/winota-cedh-3/

I am very curious to see where you guys place that new Kobold commander. On one hand, I see it on the midcard level. But on the other hand, there are ways to take advantage of it's 0 mana cost.
