Shaman of Forgotten Ways is a dedicated win condition in Gruul anti-competitive. Destroy all lands, destroy all artifacts, be the only person with mana dorks, and you win!

It works in yisan for a few reasons, chief among them is you can't tutor for Umbral Mantle. You CAN however, tutor for Bioshaman who can kill without infinite mana. I usually save it as a plan B/C after aiming for Craterhoof/Decimator of the Provinces

Sorry to pull away for the Yisan, the Wanderer Bard, but I had a question about tier placement on a particular simic commander with an outdated list:

Momir Vig, Simic Visionary. With prophet banned that decks first tutor (90% of the time) is no legal. Does this change Momir Vig drastically?

I wasn't trying to imply Yisan's color identity had anything to do with him being good, just that it didn't necessarily hurt a commander and the ability needs to be examined as well.

Selvala shouldn't be tier 5 was my main point.

Shaman of Forgotten Ways is a good in a number of decks. Derevi, Sisay, Marath, and several other Green creature-heavy stax and midrange builds can utilize him as a backup win condition. He's certainly not a staple, but he has his place in cEDH.

As for Momir Vig, Simic Visionary, he was actually placed in Tier 1 prior to Prophet of Kruphix's ban. The loss of the card severely hindered his speed, making him no longer able to compete at a top-tier level.

Hey guys I know these tier lists are based off of the ideal build for each commander, could anyone tell me where to find these lists, I'm interested in building a new deck but I want to see the ideal list for the generals I've narrowed it down to (Sedris, the Traitor King, Teneb, the Harvester, Sidisi, Brood Tyrant). I'm also considering the new Leo but am aware he doesn't have an ideal build yet lol. But if anyone could tell me where to find the ideal lists that the tiers are based off of that would be awesome. Also feel free to comment on the generals I'm considering (I currently play Riku ramp Value, Ezuri infect/combo, Medomai dickish Control)

Laboratory Maniac is SUPER easy to win with using Doomsday. Usually, the piles include Predict, Unearth, Probe, and Street Wraith. You can also through in countermagic to defend from removal and counterspells. Beyond that, Blue is not a necessary Doomsday color XP

New Selvala is an incredibly hard card to evaluate in a vacuum. I don't know where she'll end up (tier 3 is probably a safe start), but she's definitely not garbage. The fact she's half of an infinite mana combo in the command zone is no joke.

Yeah, but it's not like green has a hard time going infinite anyway. I just don't really see the advantage of running her as a commander over, say, Kamahl. That said, I'd still say that tier 3 is a fair placement for her.

why is kuon in tier 5? he is bad, but he didn't strike me as that bad. how hard is it to online him?

Kuon's mono-colour so that's a downside. And I would say he's not quite as good as Liliana, the Heretical Healer for mono-black. He's definitely not as good as Geth. Still though, maybe an optimal build would be mid-high tier 4? I would say Lili's at the top of tier 4, and their builds would be about on par in most games if you had optimal builds.

I feel like if Emrakul, the Aeons Torn were to be unbanned she wouldn't be that good of a commander. She costs 15, has literally the worst colour identity, and is pretty useless outside of the extra turn clause. She has to be hardcast, which hurts her a lot. I know she's banned, so it doesn't really matter, and I could be wrong, but just looking at her I don't think she'd do very well in cEDH.

She kills in 2 hits and can anhil lands FAM. If there is anything colorless can do it is ramp. If you greaves her she can kill a person immediately. and another turn with at least fifteen mana is going to be bonkers. Worst case she makes Someone so behind they might as well quit.

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn isn't banned because she's too good as a commander, she's banned because she's considered too powerful of an effect in the 99. Getting a time walk if you get to 15 mana or with Omniscience as well as a big, evasive, hard to target creature with annihilator is considered too good a lot of the time.

Banned in the 99 makes sense, but she doesn't seem broken to me as a commander. Yeah, she kills fast, but so does Progenitus, and they've got a lot stronger of a colour identity. The protection is nice but It'll take awhile to effectively cast her without any other colours to back it up.

It can't actually be that hard to ramo her out as a commander. She is def better when cheated out or pumped out with green, but she would have to be high 3 at least as a commander.

I play ulamog as my commander, and I can tell you for sure that pumping emrakul out by turn 5 or 6 wouldn't be too hard.
